*Duncan's POV*

"Duncan!" calls Courtney as she's rushing around her apartment.  "Have you seen my purse?  Ya know, the Vera Bradley one?  The one you bought me a few weeks ago?"

"It's hanging from the coat rack," I mumble from my place on the couch. Courtney runs by to grab her purse while I'm playing games on my phone. I especially like Hungry Shark Evolution because eating people is actually very therapeutic.

"Ugh! Now I can't find my shoes!" Court grunts with the stomp of her foot.

"Next to your dresser, Princess..." I answer again as my Tiger Shark devours an person. "Yes!" I exclaim. "Level ten! I can buy the Great White!"

"Duncan Robert Nelson! Quit playing that disturbing game and tell me where I put m-"

"Your keys are on the kitchen counter," I say, interrupting her. I look up from my phone to look at her and I raise my eyebrows.

"Thanks..." Court mutters as she snatches her keys off the counter. She hobbles on one foot as she slides on one of her Converse and I get up and grab her arm to steady her balance. She gives me a shy smile and sighs. "What would I possibly do without you, Dunky?"

"Probably end up losing your head," I joke. Courtney playfully smacks my shoulder, but returns the laugh. Then, she grabs my chin and lets out a low purr before planting a kiss on my lips. "Oh, is the Princess feeling frisky today?"

"Maybe if the Ogre gets ready so we can pick out the food, cake, and menu of the wedding," Court replies, caressing my cheek before going around the apartment again to grab her things. I barely just sit back down when she rushes past again and calls out, "I'm ready! Let's go!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming..." I mumble, standing right back up again and going out the door with Courtney.

"Are you excited? Because I am excited! What do you think you want on our wedding menu?  Keep in mind our reception is in the morning, so think breakfast or brunch," she rambles.  Man is she acting hyperactive today.

"Yeah, I'm excited, I mean we do get to taste a bunch of food.  Whatever you want for the menu is what we'll settle on, Princess." I say, throwing my arm around her shoulder once we get inside the elevator and kissing her forehead.

"How do you do that?" asks Courtney, gazing up at me with her beautiful onyx eyes.

"Do what?"

"Completely mellow me out with only a few words and a sweet gesture," she adds, her lips slowly turning up into a grin.

"What can I say? I know how to treat my girl," I answer with a smirk.

After around twenty minutes of driving, we arrive at our first stop of the day, Cal's Cakes.  I open the door to the small building and a bell rings signaling our entrance.  The whole front room is lined with glass display cases holding the most intricate looking cakes I've ever seen.  As Courtney and I are admiring them, a person with platinum blonde hair in a ponytail walks up to us.

"Hi!  I'm Cal, is there anything I can help you two with today?" asks the blonde.  Upon hearing this, Courtney looks up and walks up to her.

"Yes, actually.  I'm Courtney and this is my fiancé, Duncan." she says pointing towards me and offering her other hand to Cal to shake.  "We're here to try and order desserts for our wedding!"

"Ooh how exciting!  Well, you came to the right place!  I've got individual testing cakes for these kind of occasions.  I'll go on ahead and grab some of those, and you're welcome to have seat or look around!" responds Cal, going through a door that leads to the back of the bakery.
