Chapter 19, Couple issues

Lukas' POV

I stepped onto the roof, contemplating existence, when something caught the corner of my eye....

I watched the sun set slowly across the horizon.... I heard Jess shouting my name but I remained silent.... I sat on the floor and stared at the sky as the stars began to fade into view..... I loved the night, I still do....

I heard Jess walking up the moss brick steps.... I just kept looking down at the floor.....

"Lukas...." She said, sounding very stern.... "What. The. FACK!?!?" She continued...

"I've told you.... I....I can't control Lucy...." I replied, refusing to look at her....

"That's not the point Lukas...." She told me,

"At least I haven't killed anyone..." I said, looking on the bright side....

"Well.... You have.... Actually....." She explained, "Aiden is....is...." She continued, I stood up and turned round.... Jesse had broke down in tears....

I walked 2 steps towards her but hesitated to get any closer....

She stood up from the floor.... She wiped her eyes and looked at me blankly.....

"Are you guys coming?" We heard Ivor say...

"You listen to me.... If you keep going down the path you're going.... You're gonna have a Bad Time...." She told me as she grabbed me by the shirt and dragged me inches from her face.... She pushed me back to the floor, spun round and headed back down...

I grabbed her arm before she could get down the steps.... She turned and looked at me with that same stern look...

"I'm sorry Jess...." I said.... She looked down after ripping her arm out of my grip...."You know I don't want to kill people.... You know I didn't want to... Kill.... Aiden...." I said through gritted teeth....

She looked up at me.... I saw water forming in her eyes.... I opened my arms to offer a hug, she accepted...

"We better head down before they worry...." I explained, she nodded and headed down the stairs.... Me following behind her....

"You guys OK?" Ivor asked us, I just nodded while looking at the floor...
"Yeah we're okay.... We're just a bit shaken...." She explained.... I nodded again...

Soren and Ivor went up some ladders and I followed after, half way up I checked behind and looked back at Aiden's items lying on the floor.... A aching pain went through my chest.... The thought that I killed him.... Is saddening.....
