Chapter 7

   Jack…

MORNING, I WOKE UP fully recharged.

The thought of Zoey getting her shot made my stomach ache.

The mornings were just the same, I wake up with my head on Zack and his arm around me, even though I had no idea how I got over here. My mom always told me I would sleep walk and kick in my sleep.

He was awake, I could tell.

His head was moving around looking at the room, I didn’t move.

Then I felt him touch the top of my head, like resting his head on mine. Then I moved. I yawned loudly to make sure he knew I was awake. He dropped his hands like before, acting like he never did that.

“Good morning,” He greeted. “Are you hungry?”

“No, I’m good. Can I see Zoey?” I asked.

“No, she’s still sleeping. She was being… unreasonable. So he sprayed her.”

“He… sprayed her?”

“Yes, she will be out all day... Until she gets her shot.”

I huffed.

“Are you ready for breakfast?”

“No, I’m not hungry,” I muttered stubbornly.

“Zackary, Jack is up,” Someone said through the speakers.

“I thought Jack had healed?” I said.

“He was attacked again; Amy stabbed him with a fork. She is being sent back to earth.

But as a punishment, she is being put in Africa instead of New York. She will have no money or transportation. But she will live.”

“Poor Amy, that’s horrible! Just because she was trying to get home-“

“He’s coming in,” He interrupted.

The guy, I’m guessing Jack, walked in at that moment and surprised me. He was one of those people that had an intimidating look. His eyes were very hypnotic, not only with the mood changing, but just a certain something about them.

He had jet black hair that was longish, nearly to his eyes. His skin was paler than Zack’s and he was maybe a little taller than Zack.

Zack had more muscle, but not near as much intimidation.

He gave me a weird look that confused me, like he wasn’t surprised the least bit about me.

I moved a little in my seat, feeling oddly uncomfortable.

“Hello Zack,” He muttered with his eyes still on me.
