This is my first story. I hope you guys like :)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••"I'll have a venti hot chocolate please." I said smiling at the cashier. I was in my favorite coffeehouse in Boston. I just took my morning run and needed something to soothe my soul.
"That'll be $2.19 please" I handed over the money to the over-smiley counterperson. I gave a quick thank you and turned around to go wait for my order to be called. As I was turning something caught my eye.
Actually. Someone caught my eye. He had blue piercing eyes and light blonde hair that fell in his face lazily.
No way. I know that face anywhere. It couldn't possibly be. Ethan.
"Payton?" I heard his deep voice say. After all those years, my name on his lips still sounded the same.
"Ethan." I breathed, turning fully to see him head on. I couldn't help myself, as I felt my legs travel towards him. He opened his arms to me. Wrapping his muscular arms around my small frame."I can't believe it. It's you Payton." I gave a small chuckle into his broad chest. Behind us waiting customers mumbled. We were in fact holding the line up with our coffeehouse reunion. Giving them an apologetic smile, we moved away from the front of the line.
"Payton with a venti hot chocolate!" A worker from behind the counter yelled holding my drink in the air.
"How about you get your drink and we catch up?" Ethan offered, staring down into my brown orbs. Every time I looked into his eyes, I felt a shock in my chest. It happened in 8th grade. And evidently hasn't changed in 7 years. I gave a quick nod before reluctantly releasing my grip on his neck.

"So how have you been Payton? Long time no see." Ethan quizzed staring into my eyes.
"I've been good. I guess. Nothing really new in my life." He raised an eyebrow clearly not picking up what I was putting down.
"When did you move back to Boston?" I asked, gingerly sipping my hot chocolate.
"About a couple months ago. I cannot believe we've never seen each other since." I nodded in agreement, passing him my cup for him to drink. It was because of me that he didn't get to order.
Ethan raised an eyebrow as if to say are you sure? I gave him a quick nod, with a smile. He slowly brought his lips to the cup, all the while keeping his deep blue eyes on me. I felt a stir in my lower abdomen. I quickly averted my eyes.
"You have changed so much since 8th grade." His eyes hungrily raked down my body as far as the booth would let him. He set the cup back on the table, closer to me. "You are not the same Payton I left behind." I could feel my cheeks heat up. Thank god for my milk chocolate complexion.
But he was right. The 8th grade me was shy and depended on others for her self happiness. She was on the skinny side with no curves to save her life.
But Payton now? She was a chocolate beauty. An independent one at that. No longer shy, and looked within herself for happiness. Not to mention her body had filled out well. She had a perfect hour glass figure, with a small waist, mesmerizing hips, and a nice round backside. Any man would want her. And any women would kill to be her. But low and behold, Payton was not all that confident in her body.
"You shouldn't be talking yourself Ethan" I responded, eyeing his bulging muscles that were well defined under his light t-shirt. I brought the cup to my lips, the warmness of the drink imprinting a path down my system. I could feel his eyes trained on my lips.
Ethan gave me a dazzling smile before reaching out to imprison one of my flyaway hair strands that escaped my puff. He began curling it around his fingers, all the while keeping his eyes trained on me.
My breath hitched. He knows just what he's doing to me.
"Are you still fascinated by my natural hair?" I questioned, placing my chin in my hands.
"I never stopped being fascinated with your hair. Or you for that matter." His smirk was enough to send me off the edge. I gave him a eyebrow raise before swatting his hand away.
I glanced at my Apple Watch inhaled sharply. It was already 2 in the afternoon. How time flied.
"I have to get going Ethan." I told him, even though I would much rather stay here with him.
"C'mon I'll walk you outside." Of course he was still a gentleman. Nothing has changed. He grabbed my cup with one hand. With the other he held my hand and gently lead me out of the booth.
Now that the table was not blocking his view, his eyes travelled hungrily down my body. From my tank top to my black athletic pants. His eyes devoured every square centimeter. I gently pulled his hand, snapping him out of his trance.
"Oh...right. Let's get going then" Ethan lead me out of the coffeehouse and into the parking lot.
"Did you drive here or..."
"I ran." I answered, gesturing to my clothes in a duh voice. He gave a deep chuckle before pulling me closer to him.
"We should exchange numbers. So we can do this again." I looked up into his eyes, giving him a nod along with a smile. I never realized how tall he was. Ethan must be at least 6'8 towering over my measly 5'4 height.
After we exchanged numbers, we said our goodbyes, going separate directions. I took of in a light jog down the sidewalk while he got into his Land Rover. I could feel his eyes on my body as I created more distance in between ourselves.
What just happened? I had reunited with my childhood love. That's what happened.
