Payton's POV

I couldn't believe it was November already. It felt like just yesterday I saw Ethan in that uptown coffeehouse. In reality, it has been about 3 months. Sadly we haven't been able to see each other as much because of the new business deal between the two companies.

But today, I would finally get to see him and I was so excited. Today we were going to devote our time to the Food Bank. It was something I haven't done before, but nevertheless I was eager.

Ethan would be here to pick me up in about 30 minutes. I couldn't figure out what to wear, but after some time I decided on a simple outfit. I was wearing light wash jeans, a long sleeve white shirt paired with a magenta long cardigan, my favorite Calvin Klein scarf, and my timberlands. With my nerdy looking glasses, I thought I looked like a college student. A fashionable one.

After smithing moisturizer into my curls, I pulled it into a high puff. When my appearance looked acceptable, I rushed into the kitchen and quickly made grits and warmed a croissant. By the time I finished and cleaned up after myself and brushing my teeth, Ethan knocked on the door. I sped to the door and opened it revealing a cold bitten, but smiling Ethan.

"Good morning beautiful." He said sweetly, leaning down to place a kiss on my lips. I complied, kissing him back with longing. Something was tickling the space around my mouth and I pulled back. He had a beard. A strangely sex one.

"You have a beard." I exclaimed, pulling back and gliding my fingers along the hair on his chin and upper mouth.

"Yeah I wanted to try something new. You like?" He asked, placing his arm around my neck, pulling me toward him.

"It's pretty sexy," I said blushing. "We haven't seen each other in so long," I wrapped my arms around his back.

"At least we have right now. You ready to go?" I nodded, but held up a finger. I quickly grabbed my phone and keys, while putting on my coat. I went back to the door, where Ethan was standing.

"Ready." I said holding two thumps up. Ethan smiled, showing his teeth.

"You look cute today." He tugged on one of my curls and pinched my cheeks. I laughed, shrugging away from his hands. Intertwining our hands, he led me to his car. We both got in, put on our seat belts, and we're finally off.

The food bank was downtown, meaning the drive was going to be about an hour give or take. We entertained ourselves with conversation and music. After awhile I finally spoke up.

"I've never actually volunteered at a food bank before." I said sheepishly. He smiled sweetly, while putting his hand on my thigh.

"That's fine. You'll learn fast. Just remember to smile, and show you beautiful teeth. They would rather see that than someone taking pity on them." Ethan said thoughtfully, keeping his eyes on the road. I nodded, looking out the window.
