Last Time
"Stop talking." He ordered darkly. She didn't, however, pressing on instead. "Why? Why won't you let me say what I need to say? You don't know what I could possibly be thinking... a-and I hate that you are being so cold to me."
An internal battle was now raging in his mind. This sweet innocent girl still wanted to be around him even though he had proved to be an absolute hazard. He didn't know what to do in the slightest.
She somehow had the ability to build him up and break him apart with one glance.
+++++++++++++++++++++
"Do you have any idea what your words are doing to me?" Marshall muttered pain underlining his voice.
Fionna became quite her mind began to race. He sounded so lost and scared. It surprised her as she watched him unfold before her so easily. "Should I leave does it hurt for me to be around you?"
He gripped her hand softly. "I don't know.... I-I just want to keep you safe."
She paused letting a smile paint her lips. "But your are keeping me safe. Stop being so hard on yourself okay? I value you as a friend."
Suddenly she felt him pull her into his arms. They were face to face now and he looked serious. "Me a demon is keeping you safe? Do you honestly feel comfortable around me after what happened?"
"Yes." Fionna answered after a long pause.
Dumbfounded all the demon could do was laugh. The human narrowed her eyes and punched him lightly. "Shut up dude just take this as a good thing."
He just rolled his eyes and flopped back onto his bed.
"You humans confuse me."
Fionna sat down gently on a corner of the bed. "You demons confuse me."
"I suppose that's a good thing that we confuse each other." The demonic teen chuckled.
She slid closer to him her scent surrounding him. "Why's that?"
"Well for starters.... we can learn from each other right? You can learn more about demons I can learn more about humans."
Suddenly she sat upright, golden tresses bouncing, with an excited look. "Story time! Teach me all about demons Marsh."
Levitating a bit he pondered the situation for a moment. Sure she seemed fine with everything but he still was nervous. Once he bit someone is hard to stop, especially with human blood. However, here she was giving a bastard like him another change. If he just let this chance to try to smooth over what happened, act normal, how could they move forward?
Finally he gave in. "What do you want to know?"
"How about the social hierarchy's and other boring society stuff. What do you guys like to do for fun? It's kinda dull around here."
"That's pretty simple..."
Then they chatted and chatted and traded information about their lives. Fionna learned that demons have all kinds of life phases that cement their ranking. If a demon gets their horns if means they have reached adulthood and they get to do adult things. Surprisingly their society ideas of adult things were close to human's views.
Marshall however was wowed by devices called "smart phones." Now the Underworld had technology but it wasn't as advanced as Earth's. They had devices that could play video games of sorts but that was about it. Magic was what took place of human technology. There were magical orbs to communicate with people. Information that the community could access was stored in books they got, all they had to do was open it and say what they wanted to know. It even played music if they said the song name.
Both objects confused the two of them and they both found it hard to explain everything clearly.
"Dude you are the worst at trying to explain what a computer is."
"Shut it, I still don't get how you can summon music through a book."
Marshall Lee let out a snort and fell onto his bed, pale hand draped over his face.
Fionna let out a giggle. "We'd make terrible teachers."

Soon after they made up it became calm again. Once in awhile Marshall would have an urge for blood, but he used the utmost strength to control himself.
Or..... he'd find himself in a blaring bar, smashed as hell, with ladies at his sides. Seducing him with their fresh flowing blood. Only to wake up on some random rooftop with his clothes missing, and a pounding headache. It was fine.
Everything was fine.
He was fine.
As long as he didn't hurt Fionna.
What a laugh.

The spunky blonde wasn't daft. Every night she'd see that idiot sneaking out, snaking through the shadows. Every morning she'd see him come home with messed hair, hickeys, and the stench of alcohol.
One particular morning she finally hit the end of her rope. Storming over to the certain vampire boy's room she busted the doors open.
"Marshall Lee what in the hell?"
Groggily he looked up at her. "What?"
"Stop being a hoe."
His red eyes widened at her words. "I'm not a hoe. Where are you getting that far fetched idea from?"
"Far fetched? For fucks sake you come back every morning a complete and utter mess. Who do you think your fooling? Haven't you noticed everyone in this damn castle talking about it."
His shoulders tensed up. "So? I don't care if my pesky court members and staff are talking. They always talk about me and what I'm doing isn't new here. I need blood my craving is getting worse."
"Why?" She questioned
"Because I drank from you. For some reason your blood is really good and now other blood isn't the same." He said nervously.
Fionna dug her nails into her palms.
"If you needed blood why didn't you just ask me?"
Marshall stopped mid-float. "Why didn't I ask you? You know exactly why."
"No actually I don't."
"Fionna don't play these games. You are a human, you could die, or get hurt, or-"
The human shoved her hands on her hips a pout on her face. "I know you won't do that."
"Really now? What else do you know bunny?" He practically spat.
"You took my blood once. Why don't you take it again? Using those girls up like that isn't very nice."
"I'm not nice."
"Just take some blood you pineapple." She said cutting her healing wrist lightly with her sword.

Guess who finally updated... hiii. Sorry for another cliff hanger, its late and I'm tired. So that was a long hiatus. I feel really bad for that but I just had to get better. I'm getting a therapist and I have calmed down a lot. People in my life have smoothed out and I'm just feeling better overall. So updates should be happening a lot more. I hope you'll stick with me and this story (:
This isn't edited since I just wanted to get it out. I'll edit later.
