Fionna twiddled her thumbs awkwardly as she sat at the dining table. Many new faces surrounded her, all apparent members of Marshall's regime. To say that it was really awkward was an understatement. Everyone's eyes were glued to her, and she heard them whispering about her. She was a human after all.

Many of them were especially jealous that Marshall took a high interest in her over the others. He sat at the head of the table of course and had offered her a seat next to him. The human was a shy anxious bean, so she decided it was best to.

That made it worse, much to her dislike, she heard whispers of her being his mistress. Even words like whore and slut were thrown around. Since they were all magical they thought a human wouldn't hear them if they "whispered", but the blonde heard.

In fact, all of the rude remarks made her think back to when she was still in high school. One of the main reasons she was socially inadequate was because of rude rumors. At one point she had been part of a popular group, but they eventually kicked her out for being too ugly and boring.

They also blamed her for spreading rumors about people in the group and told everyone she had already had sex with six guys. This was only in freshman year for heaven's sake. Not knowing what to do she had decided to back down, and look for new friends. It was really hard but eventually, she had found three great people, and some other friends.

After that, no one bothered her which was fine with her. Just her pals and her doing random things together. Now though her memories came back making her chest tighten. Why can't people just mind their own damn business?

"You know I bet he's just fucking her."

"She's such a whore! Who does she think she is getting that close to our king?"

"Tch humans are so disgusting, why would he waste time on her."

Tears threatened to spill, but she forced them back. Fionna wouldn't cry over some rude people it showed them that she was weak. Weakness didn't seem really appreciated down here. Why prove their point, and give them what they want.

So choking back her tears with the food before her was the only choice she had. Fuming she practically stabbed the fork into the weird meat before.

"What terrible table manners. How vulgar what is she an animal? Oh, wait she's human."

Rage is a lovely feeling. Driving people to do unspeakable things in an instant. The sweetest person can change to a raging beast in a blink of an eye. The final comment had Marshall basically frothing at the mouth.

"Hey, you shits shut the fuck up! You have no idea who she is or what's she's doing here, saying these things is making the Shadow Kingdom basically at the level of the damn Fires. Learn some respect for my guest."

His rage shook everyone. He was known for being the most level-headed (though still rebellious) king in these lands. Yes, he had his rage, but who didn't down here? No one had ever seen him get so enraged at something like this, especially about a human.

"Uh pardon me my liege, but she's just a human... shouldn't you be with someone of higher status?" An old man stuttered.

"She is of high status, old man. She controls the sword of Leora like no one else. If I were you I'd shut my ass."

"No stupid human could possibly control that damned thing! Prove it." Spat a heavily decorated lady.

Fionna shot up from her seat. "Fine, you cake faced bitch, when and where."

The women gasped and fanned herself. "Such disgusting language."

"You literally just used foul language Duchess." Gill shot back.
