Chapter 1

Tobin's POV

Today I just found out I'm moving back to New Jersey in a week. I can't believe my mom would do this to me. She got back together with my dad that left us for 17 years and now he wants to come back in our lives!

I love where I am in California. I have a secret crush on Alex. Her best friend Sydney knows, because she saw my face, when
Alex told everyone that she has a boyfriend. Sydney told me she wouldn't tell anyone, but I don't know about that.

"Hey tobs" Kelley said. Kelley is my best friend since I moved here.

"Hey kels" I said hugging her.

"What's wrong you seem down?" She asked. I was debating on telling her. Fuck it.

"Can I talk to you privately?" She gave me a weird look but nodded. I started walking to a spot I found since I moved here. It was my place I go to if I needed to think. We stopped walking and I took in a deep breathe.

"So my mom told me something last night. And you have to promise me you won't tell anyone else" I said. She nodded her head for me to continue.

"My mom got back together with my dad" I said looking at anything but her.

"Your dad that left you for 17 years?" She asked sternly.

"Yes" I said.

"Why are you so down then if the got back together?" She asked. Tears started running down my face. I looked up at her and she had a concern written all over her face.

"Well you know how he lives in New Jersey" I asked, she nodded her head.

"Well I'm moving there in a week" I said tears poured out of my eyes. She shook her head not wanting it to be true.

"I'm so sorry kels" I said. I looked up and she had tears pouring out of her eyes as well. She came up to me and hugged me.

We stayed like this for what seemed like hours. We finally pulled away.

"Do you want to skip school today and have an us day?" She asked.

"Yes!" I said immediately. She smiled.

"Let's turn off our phones so it's just us and so you have a worry free day" she said, I nodded and shut off my phone.

Alex's POV

I haven't seen Tobin today. It's really weird I always talk to her in the morning. I've called her like 20 times and she still hasn't answered. I have always had a crush on her, ever since I have laid eyes on her. But I have servando. He is so sweet and caring. I really do love him, but something about Tobin makes my heart pound fast, butterflies in my stomach, and she just makes me weak to my knees. I just can't explain it, but I don't even know how Tobin feels about me.

I walked into school and saw my best friend ,Syd, down the hall. We have been through thick and thin together. I walked up to her and hugged her.

"Hey Syd" I said.

"Hey lex" she said.

" Have you seen Tobin?" I asked.

"Yeah she ditched school with Kelley again. But it looked like they were crying." She said. I had a concern look on my face. I have only meet Tobin 2 years ago and we are really good friends. We have a good relationship, we are completely honest with each other. I honestly don't know what I would do without her.

" are you going to the party Thursday?" Syd asked.

"Hell yeah" I said.

The day went really slow without Tobin there. We have all of our classes together and we sit right next to each other. Stupid teachers. We always make fun of the teachers, laugh the whole class periods, and we always get our class work down. She is one of the closest friends I'll ever have, besides Syd, which is too good to be true.
