the way those eyes dance,

Her eyes blinked, yet she couldn't seem to make them focus. The throbbing ache in her skull wouldn't let up. She could hear someone mumbling something in the background of the ringing in her ears but she couldn't seem to focus on that either. A low groan escaped her dry throat, releasing the breath she didn't know she had been holding.

She felt a light few taps on the side of her face, then the feeling of hands holding her head, keeping it up right so it didn't fall backwards. Her vision flickered like a camera lens trying to focus and eventually she began to see the outline of the person kneeling in front of her. Attempting a question, it came out as a string of slurred noises and groans.

A cheery laugh filled the room, then a sentence she couldn't hear.

"Wow, I really messed you up good, didn't it?" His psychotic smile towered over her slumped figure, his breath tickling her face.

Her head dropped backwards, and Kai immediately pulled it back up to face him. Elise's vision became clear, and found her assailant perched over her, staring intently into her drooped eyes.

A sudden panic washed flooded Elise's stomach at his close proximity, and without thinking she stammered 'motus', sending him flying back into the wall behind them. Catching her breath, and her balance, she quickly glanced around her surroundings. Elise had no idea where she was.

The feeling of Kai's magic swarmed Elise, it felt blissful in her veins, gave her power she forgot was possible. Without even looking for my backpack she stumbled towards the door, while Kai was still groaning and slowly getting up from the floor. Elise saw this and took it as an oops to escape, only to face plant a chest. The sudden collision rattled her whole skull, sending a whole new wave of agony to attack her mind. She let out a low whine, placing her palms against her skull, only to be met with a damp bandage?

Looking up at him, Elise could only place the look on his face as slight concern, but as soon as it was there, it was gone.

"What are you?" Elise asked him. He smiled, like he was just waiting for her to ask.

"A heretic." He retorted. She look blankly at him, as she had never heard that word in her life

"A what?" She asked.

Rolling his eyes, Kai explained that he was a siphon turned vampire, able to siphon off of his vampire side still because he technically wasn't a witch in the first place.

The shock that consumed Elise was unexplainable, stood in front of her was a siphon, that had unlimited access to magic and the bloodlust of a vampire, and that terrified her. All her life, she had gone believing that siphons where the worst things out there other than vampires, now there was a hybrid of the two living and breathing right in front of her.

"I know, I'm amazing." Kai gloated, looking up at the ceiling and shrugging. Elise scoffed.

"Why am I here?"

He smiled, showing his almost perfect white teeth.

"Good question... I'm still trying to figure that one out."

All he received was a raised eyebrow.

Kai rolled his eyes once again. "I was going to kill you, right, because I needed a relic from a coven to help me do some things, so the coven told me that if I killed you they would give me the relic, but then, when I was dragging your body to my car, the angle you where lying at, you looked like someone I used to know and I just couldn't bring myself to kill you, so now your here."
