Chapter 5

6 Days Later;

Clary's and I's arms wrapped around each other's as we held each other close.

The mission took longer then expected, so when Clary called me sobbing about mom, Simon and I rushed home.

Alec stood at the corner not moving as his blank expression stared at me.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't here, the last thing I said to her was awful, if I stayed maybe I could've healed her." I told Clary.

"Don't think that Saga, mom knew you didn't mean it. And you couldn't have saved her." Clary said.

"I have to talk to him." I said to Clary as she nodded.

We hugged one last time before I went over to Alec.

"Saga I am so sorry for what I did, I I couldn't."

I pulled Alec in my arms as he kept on whispering sorry.

"Alec, it wasn't you it was a demon Valentine sent out. Don't beat yourself up for this." I told him.

"It was my hands."

"Alec, I need you to hold me please."

His arms wrapped tightly around me as I buried my face into his chest.

       Raphael's POV;

I played with the box in my pocket, as I walked to mine and Saga's meeting spot.

I spotted Saga there with her hands in her pockets.

"Hello love." I said as I got to her pulling her into my arms.

"I missed you." Saga said as I played with her hair.

"I missed you too."

Saga moved away as I saw her eyes were red and puffy.

I quickly pick her up and ran her to my room setting her on the couch and locked the door.

"Why are you crying love?" I asked softly.

"Valentine sent a demon into the institute, it went into Alec, and he couldn't control himself so his hands."

Saga stopped shaking her head, as I brought my lips to hers.

She started to calm down as I pulled my lips off of hers.

"It'll all be fine, love. Relax." I said touching her hair.

We sat in silence as my hand kept on going into my pocket.

"Raphael, are you okay? You seem fidgety." Saga's soft voice said.

I didn't reply as I kneeled down in front of her taking the ring out.

"I know we've only been together for a couple of months, but ever since I saw you I knew you'd be the one. I know right now isn't the best circumstances but Saga Amelia Fairchild, will you marry me?" I asked opening the box.

"Yes, I'd thought you'd never asked."

I slipped the ring onto Saga's finger before she jumped into my arms.

She gave me a kiss as I sat her down on the couch.

Her hands went to my jacket taking it off as I kissed down her neck.
