One day later
"Feeling better Evelyn?" Lin asks me.
"Yeah, just needed a day to rest," I answer with a smile. I see Anthony in the corner of my eye looking at me with concern. I focus my attention back on Lin.
"Okay, can you make me a promise?" he looks at me with buckets of hope.
"Sure?"
"Can you come to the after party next week, it'll be a one time thing, we just really want the whole cast," he explains. Oh god, why Lin?
"Yeah, I guess I can try to make it," I lie. He pulls me in a hug and squeals like a little girl.
"Thank you, everyone said you would say no, but I knew you would come through!" I just give him a smile as a response. "Come on, let's go rehearse," he walks away still smiling as I follow him.
"I told you she would say yes!" Lin exclaims to the cast. No! Ugh, everyone is going to hate me. I'll just go for half an hour and then leave once everyone gets drunk. Maybe Keith will come instead. Yeah! Keith can come, then he'll let me go. I give them all a smile and Jazzy gives me a huge hug.
"So you come if Lin asks you," she shakes her head.
"Well, he is my boss," I chuckle.
"I'm just glad you're coming," she smiles.
"Yeah..." I said awkwardly.
After Rehearsals
"Keith?" I call out in the empty home. I find a note on the counter. No. Please no. I pick up the note and read it to myself.
Evelyn, I'm out of town for a week, business. Don't do anything stupid. ~Keith
I sigh and take a deep breath. I can go to the after party with no troubles.
