Chapter Seven

~ Harry’s Point Of View ~

I was in complete shock when Ignacia came out of the room, stepped over me and continued to walk on as though we weren’t here. Fair enough, Liam was in a fight but I was in pain and she didn’t even offer help.  She’s changed since the last time we saw her. Not appearance-wise, maybe actually a little since she’s a little thinner but her attitude. She was so nice and helpful. I was in pain when that stupid brown haired guy punched me in the face but seeing Iggy like that gave me the strength to get up.

I followed her down the street, struggling to catch up to her with my speed walk.

“Iggy, hey Iggy, wait up!” I shouted after her but she just increased her pace. I ran up to her just as she was about to cross the road where there was a park on the other side. I grabbed onto her arm and pulled her back, twirling her around.

She flinched before staring at me. Her face was expressionless yet her blue eyes reflected so much emotion. Her eyes were glassy as if she was holding back tears.

“Done staring?” She glared at me before yanking her hand away. I watched as she turned to cross the road. I was in shock and just stared after her until I regained my senses. I followed her across the road and through the park. I ran until I reached her and walked by her side.

“What happen to that friendly loveable girl we met in England a month ago?” I finally asked as the silence was getting to me.

“Clearly, you’ve been deluding yourself!” She grunted and shrugged her shoulders. Why is she being like this?

“Iggy, just listen to me!” I shouted, anger building up inside. She’s just being so difficult. I noticed that she slightly jumped. She probably didn’t anticipate my short temper. She stopped and nodded to a nearby, empty bench before she trudged towards it and sat down. I followed her pursuit and sat next to her.

“I’m listening,” she mumbled.

“Y-you’ve changed. I deserve to know why? It’s the least you could do. Look, you helped me back home when I couldn’t get over Caroline. You really did and I owe you. I could return the favour by helping you.” A lump caught in my throat as I spoke. Ignacia looked broken as her eyes bore into mine. They looked so…lifeless.

“I don’t need help. Not from you anyway.” She placed her hands in her pockets before standing up. She walked on. I felt defeated but I wouldn’t give up this easily. Not after she was the only one going through my mind through the month long separation. Okay, maybe that sounds a little too dramatic but it’s true. I jogged up to her once again. This time I passed her and stood in front of her, blocking her path.

“Are you honestly telling me that that kiss meant nothing to you?” I questioned, raising an eyebrow. I shouldn’t have asked her, but it left my mouth before I could stop myself. I promised I wouldn’t bring that up again.

“It meant nothing. Happy? Now let me go!” She shifted to the right but I was too quick for her and moved along with her.

“But ––” I began only to be cut off.

“It was a goodbye kiss, nothing more. That’s what you said, remember?” Why did I even care so much about it? I can tell you why; it’s because I felt so much in that kiss, it helped me forget about someone else for a while. It wasn’t one of those intense kisses, it was just a spur of the moment kiss.

I had kissed Ignacia on the day they left for Spain. Ignaica, Freya and Emma had come over to our house on the morning of their departure to see us for the last time. While the others were downstairs having fun with the girls I had remained in my room, moping in bed half naked. I was still quite upset over my previous breakup and felt I wasn’t worth another girl. After a long while of just laying there I heard the creak of my door opening and a stream of light flashed over my face as I turned to see who it was. Turns out Ignacia couldn’t handle Liam’s and Niall’s constant glare directed towards her so she decided to check up on me. At the time none of us knew of Freya’s and her conversation although Freya promised to tell us later. She sat on the edge of my bed and although at first I tried to comfort her, it ended up her reassuring me and I felt like she was the only one that cared about me so I went for it.

I didn’t even think about it before pulling her towards me and gently placing my lips upon hers. I didn’t expect her to kiss me back but for some reason she did. For a few seconds our saliva’s were dancing with each others’ before she pulled away. She looked confused and unsure of herself. Then she stuttered for us to keep this a secret between the two of us and never to bring it up. I apologised and promised as well as telling her it was only a goodbye kiss.

At first the kiss meant nothing to me either, it was just a goodbye kiss like Ignacia said but as the days went on and I went out with another girl, I couldn’t help but compare our kisses with the one Ignacia and I had shared. No other kiss was ever good enough. I couldn’t take it anymore and so broke up with my ex. After that day, Ignacia even cropped up in my dream and from there she was the only one I could think about.

“It is.” I bit my lips. I can’t exactly tell her I’m into her with the state she’s in now. For all I know she’s got a boyfriend now.

“Then there’s nothing to talk about. There’s nothing you owe me and there’s nothing you deserve to know about me. Take your freaking butt out of my life, Harry.” I was too stunned for words to even stop her from walking pass me. She merely stepped aside and continued on her way.

Should I give up right now or be persistent? What the hell, why am I even debating with myself? I can’t give up on her, maybe she’d break that shell she formed if I keep at her. I, once again, followed her, calling after her. She stopped at a grey bin after a loud huff.

“I advise you to turn around and head home unless you have a death wish. After this point you are no longer safe and as much as you are annoying me right now, I’d like to see you well and alive,” she warned me before walking on. Although I saw her point towards the bin first.

I walked to the bin, examining the exterior before I came across a few scribbles. One of them being: Black Cross Diggers turf in a permanent black marker. There were a few other words but they were mostly abuses. What does Black Cross Diggers even mean? I wasn’t willing to risk my life just yet so I turned away at this point, hoping to God that Ignaica will be safe.

I got lost on the way back to their house but a nice couple who were able to speak English directed me to the right place and soon I was there.

“Er…where’s Ignaica?” Emma asked, glancing over me and looking left to right as she opened the front door after I rang the doorbell.

“At the park. She wouldn’t listen to me. I’m sure she’ll make her own way home once she’s calm down,” I reassured Emma as she let me into the house.

“No, you don’t understand. The last time she went out which was when Liam told me you guys are coming, she didn’t come home until the next day. It was like three pm when she got home,” Emma panicked.
