I know it has been a while but i am beginning to publish the second book. I have written the first chapter and have loads more on the way.

Here is a quick sneak peek of what you should be expecting.

Castle's POV

It's been 3 years since Finlay was born and it had been the best 3 years of my life.
He has grown up to be a beautiful, healthy boy. He is very smart just like his mother and I love him with all my heart.

Today is his 3rd birthday and I can't believe it. He has grown up so fast. He is the splitting image of me but has his mother's bravery and stubbornness, there is no doubt about it.

Today it is Kate and I's mission to make it his best birthday ever and we seem to be doing well. That's what I think anyway.

"RICHARD!" Beckett bellows from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I shout back as I run out of Finlay's room and downstairs towards the kitchen where Kate is pacing the room in frustration.

"What is it? What's wrong" I ask as I stand and try to catch my breath.

"Finlay's cake hasn't arrived yet and we only have half an hour before Espo and Ryan bring him back from swimming" Kate stresses. "Are you sure you ordered it?".

"Yes Kate, I am as positive as a battery that I ordered the cake" I chuckle.

"This is no laughing matter!" Kate growls just as the doorbell goes.

"I bet that is the cake right now" I say as I escape from the kitchen and open the door. There I find a young man, maybe 16 or 17 years of age. His hair was ginger like Alexis'. His face reminded me of someone but I can't figure it out. Instead of driving myself crazy trying to figure it out, I grab the cake and thank him before quickly shutting the door.

"So... was it the cake? Is it ok?" Kate asks as I walk back into the kitchen.

"Umm... I don't know, I haven't looked at it yet" I mumble in return as I place it on the countertop in front of me and taking a step back.

There are a few minutes of silence before Kate finally speaks up.

"Fine then, I will check it myself" she huffs.

It takes me a few minutes to register what she said but when I do I quickly walk towards her so that I can also have a look at the cake.

"It looks great" I tell her.

"Castle?" Kate says as she places her hands on my shoulders.

"What?" I ask her.

"What is up with you? You're not normally like this" Kate says.

"Like what?" I ask.

"Umm... jumpy and you can't concentrate on anything" She tells me.

"Ahh... nothing. I just thought I recognized someone that's all" I reassure her before placing a quick kiss on her lips.

"Ok" Kate replies as we quickly hide the cake.

Not more than 5 minutes later, we hear the laugh of Finlay echo round the house.

"Looks like our guest of honor has arrived" I chuckle as we walk into the living room to find Ryan helping Finlay take his shoes off and Espo removing his jacket.

"Daddy! Mommy!" he screams as Finlay runs into my arms.

"Hey buddy, did you have an enjoyable time with Uncle Espo and Ryan?" Kate asks him as I place a kiss on his cheek.

"It was so much fun!" he giggles in reply, making us to laugh too.

"That's great Dude. Do you want to get ready for your party with Daddy?" I ask him as I place him back down on the ground.

"Yes, yes, yes!" he screams as we run upstairs and into his bedroom, leaving the others in laughing their heads off.
