Chapter 5: An impossible Task

Clarke's POV

I rise up from my sheets and carefully tie the laces on my boots before I exit the room. I ignore the pounding pain in my head. Honestly, I have slept enough. I can't waist any minute sleeping and getting over a god damn hangover. My eyes come in contact with an owl with 5 eyes on a branch...that's not what confuses me. It's night. How long did I sleep for? I couldn't have just slept for 2 hours? It felt like so much more. Hearing sounds I walk towards the medical tent and open the blinds. What the... I see body bags on beds and my mum, Raven and Jackson crouching around a person. I squint my eyes and shock fills my entire body.

"Luna?" I whisper confused. They all turn to me swiftly.

"Clarke! Oh your awake honey!" My mum shouts and throws me in her arms. I don't hug back. I am so confused and shocked.

"Why are there bodies on the table?" I ask shocked and depart from my mothers hold. By the look on her face, the news was not going to be pretty.

"They were the last of my people" Luna sniffed and fought back tears but there was a slightly anger in her voice.

"What happened to them?" I asked.

"Clarke...it seems that Allie lied about the radiation" my mother said.

"Lied? What are you talking abo-"

"We don't have 6 months to die.....we have less than 2 months" Raven says. After that my whole body turned numb. I couldn't feel anything, couldn't think. All that hit me was the confusion and hurt and panic and suddenly all negative feelings hit me at once but I couldn't speak or yell, I barely get a word out.

"....2...2 months?"

"I'm afraid so Clarke and the radiation is already here, it's already targeting the grounders...the fish and the insects as well"

The pounding in my head returned but I ignored it. What am I going to do now? We have less than 2 months until the radiation burns them all? Engulfs the whole human race to extinction? We should have never had that party! We waisted valuable resources and we could have been trying to figure out how we all could have survived, not getting blind drunk and fucking people to our hearts content. My eyes scan over Raven. Yeah I saw her with Jasper and many others. In fact I saw a lot of people being reckless and just stupid! I might have been drunk at the party but I certainly would never do anything like that. I notice she is staring at me and the look she is giving me makes me nervous. It isn't a friendly look, no, it isnt a nasty one either...it's a look of concern. What's up with her!?

My eyes find their way to Luna and I study her carefully. She's... she's perfectly fine...why? All of her people are gone except her? What's so different about- oh....oh my god. She's a nightblood! That's it! She's still alive because of her blood! What if we give people her blood! Would that work?

"Hey! I know why she-" I stop my self and they all turn to me.

"What was that sweetie?" My mother asks. No...I can't tell them. Not yet anyway. I want Luna to stay here as long as possible and if she feels that we need her then she won't stay. I know because we needed her for the flame and she turned us down. And I can't risk anyone else knowing, it's too dangerous and I don't want the word getting out. I don't trust anyone else...I have to find Bellamy as quick as possible and tell him.

"Clarke!"

"What!?" I yell as someone screams in my face and grabs my shoulders. I notice that it's Raven and I push her off me.

"Listen I need to talk to you" she whispers. She grabs my arm and drags me to her engineering and closes the door.

"What is it?" I ask.
