The Disney Quest

Chapter 5

Peter, Elsa, Simba, Melody, Jack, and Bolt continued to walk until they got to where the woods were no longer animated. There was an invisible line one side everything was animated; the water, the trees, everything. On the other everything was realistic.

When the tributes stepped through the force field, they were still animated.

"My friends" Sparrow said "welcome to the real world."

"Jack" Elsa rolled her eyes in an unqueenly way "you sound like a childhood dream crusher."

They walked further into the unfamiliar world. Peter Pan zipped and zoomed through the realistic trees. The rest gazed at everything around them as they walked. They had only heard about unanimated things.

All day the gang would walk, stop, talk, eat, and then walk again.

They suddenly noticed a little 8 year old girl sitting on a stump messing with a doll in her lap. Peter landed and walked with the rest of them up to the girl.

When they got close, the little girl gasped, stood up and turned around. When she saw the gang, she smiled.

"I knew you guys were real" the little girl exclaimed happily "I knew it."

"What's your name?" Melody asked.

"Kate" the little girl said.

"What are you doing out here?" Elsa asked.

"Playing" Kate said. She then held up her doll that closely resembled Peter Pan.

This made of course made Peter grin.

"By yourself" Bolt asked quizzically.

"Yah" Kate said "I don't have many friends. Are you here because of the villains?"

"How did you know?" Simba asked.

"I have been seeing them walking around for a week now" Kate answered "the keep talking about a new era. The first time I saw them, I asked the nearest person if they saw them, he looked straight at them and said no."

"He must not believe" Jack Sparrow said "lassie, are you the only one that sees them?"

"Of the people I know" Kate said "yes."

"Do the villains know you can see them?" Melody asked.

"I don't think so" Kate responded sadly as everyone sighed "after I quietly asked Jason if he saw them and he said no, I've been acting like I don't see them. So people won't make fun of me."

"Kate, you did the right thing" Melody explained.

"Huh?" Kate questioned.

"Mel's right" Pan added in. Melody blushed at the nickname.

"If they knew you saw them, they would go after you."

"Me?" Kate questioned again "but why?"

"Because that's where our power comes from" Simba explained "without children like you believing in Disney magic, we're weak. They see you as a source of our energy. They would come after you and force you to believe in them."

"That's horrible!" Kate exclaimed.

"They've been doing it for centuries now" Bolt added.

"And we're not doing anything to stop it standing here" Elsa pointed out "Kate, which way to the main road?"

"This way" Kate exclaimed "follow me."

Kate led them through the forest a little further and finally out of the woods. It was sunset by this time. They second thing they noticed was a huge pitch black cloud lingering over the city a little over a mile away.
