As soon as I saw the owner of the deep voice I flinched. He had to be at least eight feet tall with huge muscles and tan skin. At first I was sure he was a giant until I saw how calm Blake was. Hey Heracules, yeah she was the girl you sent me on the mission for. She's a little shaken up so we can give her the infirmary bed and she will take the test tomorrow. Heracules? I said, you mean Hercules. I saw a flicker of annoyance flash against his face. No little girl Heracles, he said, but I thought you were suppose to be older than nine. I heard Blake snicker and I glared at him. I'm almost thirteen, I said. You are very small for your age, he said smirking. You're very big for a giant, I said. Blake laughed but quickly covered it up with a cough. Heracles glared and said, we have gotten off on the wrong foot Rickey, however I'm sure that once you take a long rest and soak in the days events you will be much more agreeable. Now Blake please show her to her room for today and dont worry her little sister has already been to bed. Blake nodded and dragged me to the infirmary. The second we got to the room I was sleeping in for the night he closed the door and sat down. Ok Rickey what's wrong, he said. How do you know something was wrong, I asked. You saw your pet turn into a monster, you were attacked by a monster, and you just had a fight with someone who isn't suppose to exist, he said. My cat purred and rubbed against my thigh. I scratched her behind the ears. Ok your right, I said to Blake, I'm terrified. It's ok, he said rubbing my arm, but you know I'm not very good at making speeches so I'm just gonna say its not as weird as it sounds. I nodded my head and yawned. It's time for bed, he said. I lifted my arms and said carry me. He grew a mischievous grin and threw me over his shoulder like I was just half a bag of flour. I squealed and kicked his back but he kept me there until spike, thinking I was in danger scratched Blake. Once I was back with two feet on the ground Blake started walking out. Before he closed the doors I said, Blake who's your parent? Poseidon, he said than closed the door.
I woke up to a bunch of kids crowding around me, Blake at the back of the crowd protesting. The child awakens, someone from the front yells out. It's time for the test, another called out. I sat down glad I forgot to change into my pjs, sad I slept with my baseball still in my pocket. Spike, I called. She came forward looking around. Get them out of here, I commanded. She turned into her true self nearly filling up the room and roared so loud I almost ran out of here. When she was done the only people who were left was Blake, Briar, and Rose. Is it ok if we stay in here, Rose said apparently unfased by the giant roar. I shrugged and spike turned back into a domestic house cat. So what's the test, I asked. Rose explained, it's how we tell who's your parent. Yeah and we came to tell you that the test is starting at nine when Briar here told everyone about your test and they wanted to see it, Blake said glaring at his twin sister. What they saw our test, she defended. Yeah and they still tease me about the total wave you poured on me, he said. I missed that, I laughed. Oh just get dressed and come on, he snapped. I nodded and waited for him to leave the room. After five minutes of silence he realized we were staring at him. What, he asked. Um, I said, aren't you gonna leave so I can get dressed? Oh... Um right, he said backing out of the room quickly. Briar and rose rolled their eyes, plopped on the bed oppisite of me, and tossed me some free clothes a size to big. When I was done getting dressed I quickly put my hair in a ponytail and grabbed my baseball. I tossed the ball up and down all the way to breakfast, a habit I picked up from when I was nervous. Once I got in the cafeteria everyone stared at me and whispered until Charlotte ran up and jumped into my arms. Rickey, she yelled and flashed me a famous smile.than everyone just went back to there loudness. Hey Rickey, Blake said walking up. Charlotte still clung to my neck and said, I'm sitting with those nice girls over there but we can sit with Blake if you like. But before I could say anything she was telling Blake to show us his table. Breakfast went pretty quickly. Until I was told to go to the stadium. Blake led me there and in no time at all the bleachers were filled. Blake made me stand and wait for further instructions while he sat next to Tim, the boy he sat next to during lunch. After a while Hercules... I mean Heracles came and introduced me to everybody and my test to see if I'm a daughter of Hermes. He gave me one of those quick freeze things and I had to start running. It was easy... Until the razor sharp metal things started flying out at me. I dodged them all except the very last one. It grazed my stomach lightly but I kept going until the last one. I stopped at the end of the eight miles. Then I stopped and caught my breath. Everyone was silent until Heracles said, welcome Rickey Greenleaf, daughter of Hermes.
