We drive up to my quaint apartment and park near the door. My apartment isn't the biggest you'll see but it makes due, I've lived here for about two years now. Not the best two years but I'll take it.
I get out of the car and grab the bags. North get out and quickly runs up next to me and holds onto my arm. I lock the car and head to my door. Just as I unlock it a lady a little taller than North with shirt red hair walks over.
"Lewis~ you're home~"
I sigh and open the door.
"Aw don't be like that~ oh and who's this? Your nephew?"
I shake my head and try to ignore her and walk inside. North stares at her with an unchanging expression. She tilts her head and smiles.
"So what's your name~?"
His eyes narrow and he grips my arm tighter.
"This is North, now if you'll excuse us he needs to get his stuff moved in"
I stay sternly and she gasps.
"What~!? You let him live with you but not me? I didn't know you where so mean. I thought you liked me~"
She whines in that annoyingly shrill voice. North let's go of my arm and glares at her.
"Come on Lewis baby~ why can't you let me come in too. You know I like you."
She touches my arm gently trying to convince me. North gets in between us tearing her arm off of me and wrapping himself around it laying his head on me.
"Hey!? What was that for you little creep! You don't know who you're dealing with!"
I smirk at her and wrap my arm around North.
"Nah, I'm pretty sure he does. Come on North let's make some dinner."
I slam the door shut leaving her alone outside. I burst out laughing and let go of North.
"That was hysterical!"
North grabs my sleeve and looks up at me visibly upset. I pet his head and give him a reassuring look.
"That was my ex she live upstairs, she's dedicated her life to bother me every waking moment of my life."
North nods and I pick him up. He looks at me confused. I just chuckled and walk to the living room of my semi-clean apartment and set him on the couch.
"Do you like fried rice?"
North nods and I smile walking to my open kitchen that faces out to the living room.
"You better cause I'm making a ton~!" I announce. He smiles a bit and snuggles into the corner of my couch. After an hour of so I walk in with the food only to find him sleeping soundly surrounded by every pillow on the couch. I smile softly and pull a small throw over him and let him sleep. I grab the tv remote next to him and turn on the tv. I sit down start to eat my rice. After I finish I head to my room with the bags and hang up North's clothes in the closet.
My room is a decent sized room with a rather large wardrobe a full sized bed a small tv and a few other various items that are less important at the moment. I go back into the hallway and open my closet pulling out decent sized futon. I lay it out on the floor next to my bed.
I hear the tv changing in the other so I walk in to check.
North looks up, hands me the remote and shrugs his shoulders. I chuckle and look at him, taking the remote.
"Can't find anything?"
He shakes his head, as I sit down. He points at the food on my mess table confused.
"That's for you, I made it earlier so I can heat it us if you want."
He shakes his head, picking it up and taking a large bite. His eyes light up and he gets the biggest smile on his face. My face heats up at his adorable sight and I rub my face trying regain my composer. North leans of me taking small bites of his lukewarm fried rice.
After he finished he yawns as wraps his arms around my waist.
"Are you tired? Would you like to sleep?"
He nods and holds his arms out lie he wants me to carry him. He smiles warmly as I lift him off the couch and hold him close as I stride to the bedroom.
"I hope a futon is ok with you, if it's uncomfortable tell me I'll switch with you."
I set him down gently on the neatly made futon.
"Oh yeah you don't have any pajamas...I got an idea."
I walk over to my wardrobe and pull out one of my comfortable night shirts and a pair of his boxers I bought for him.
"Here this should be good temporality."
He nods and puts it on as I do the same with mine. Eventually he lays down, pulling the cover over his head and rests soundlessly. I smile pet his head and lay down in mine. I relax clearing my mind as I slowly drift away.
