NOTE: This chapter will span the entire 12C season of the show.
It was set to be the best term ever. Tristan, Zig, Maya, Tori, Cam, Connor, Dave, Adam, Luke, Clare, Alli, Jenna, Becky, Drew, Eli, Owen, Jake, Mo, Dallas, Fiona, Bianca, Marisol, Imogen and Katie had all had an adventurous Spring Break, and they only had three weeks left of school. With the seniors set to graduate and the juniors set to rule the school, along with the underclassmen facing fairly minor social dilemmas up until now, nothing extremely bad could come of this final semester of the year, right? Wrong. No one could have seen what was coming... Or then again, maybe they could have, if they had been paying attention. All of the signs were there. The mood swings, the cries for help, the statements that he didn't want to be here anymore... Everything pointed to him committing suicide; but no one took it seriously. No one told an adult. It was like they thought it was a joke... But all of the events leading up to the death of Campbell Saunders made it evident that the boy wasn't 100% connected in the mental health department. There was something wrong. He was depressed. He missed home, and his teammates on the hockey team generally treated him like crap. He had nothing to look forward to, nothing to make him happy, except for his relationship with Maya, and even that was being held together by a thread. It didn't help matters that tensions between he and Zig were at an all-time high.
When Zig told Cam that he should get out of Maya's life, it was that final straw that pushed him over the edge.
Everyone was distraught. Especially Maya... She just didn't know how to show it in the right way. So she showed it the only way she knew how: with anger. Cam had left her. He had never even said goodbye. What had she done? How could she possibly deserve this? Tori, having already been wanting to mend their friendship, took the opportunity to reach out and assure her that everything was going to be okay.

It was official. The school year was over, and Eli, Owen, Jake, Mo, Fiona, Bianca, Marisol and Katie were graduates of Degrassi Community School.
