Season 4A: Last Exit

It was Maya Matlin and Miles Hollingsworth's final school year at Degrassi Community School, but with all their grief over the deaths of Tristan Milligan and Zig Novak, would they and their friends even make it to graduation? Read on to find out!

Things started off fairly okay... But Tristan was in a coma, and even if he would have survived, the general outlook of his and Miles' relationship in the long term was looking mighty grim, particularly from Miles' perspective. Maya was rapidly falling down a rabbit hole of her own, but she did her best to help her ex-boyfriend whom she had now known for two years, nonetheless. She gave him the best advice she possibly could at the moment: that he should do his best to try and find some okayness in his life... Which he did, by bonding with Lola Pacini. They were just friends, but somehow Miles found comfort in having Lola around to help guide him through his grief.

Zoe, meanwhile, was the new school president with Tristan in a coma, and she was faced with the job of welcoming a number of Syrian refugees to Degrassi. Grace was now with Jonah, and Zoe was ready to come out to the entire school. There was an instant spark between her and new student Rasha when they were first introduced by Goldi.

Maya became obsessed with death, and from an outsiders' point of view it may have looked pretty odd, but for her it was the only way of coping with everything that had happened since she set foot at Degrassi.
