***Warning, there is some triggering content in here regarding rape. I'll put a summary down at the bottom if you would like to skip.***Thump, thump, thump, thump.
Slowly, Alvera became aware of heavy aching in her head, pulsing behind her eyes. The rest of her body felt numb, limp, and when she tried to move her legs, she couldn't.
Thump, thump, thump, thump.
What is that?
She could feel her heavy body bouncing, her forehead hitting something solid with each step.
Wait, step?
And then she realized.
And she remembered.
Hans, the dance, the woods, dark eyes leering at her, pinned against a tree, cloth ripping and then dark, heavy, wet silence.
She was slung over someone's back, and she was being carried.
She still couldn't move her legs, but she could slowly feel control coming back to her fingertips, crawling lethargically up her hands and arms.
She gathered her remaining wits and pushed the ache in her head to the back of her mind as she concentrated and attempted to move her arms.
There! She had moved them, just raising them slightly, but before she had time to rejoice over her victory, she felt herself being lowered to the ground and heard a dark laugh from above.
She shivered.
Hans.
"Awake, are you?" He asked, a leer in his voice as he mockingly brushed a strand of hair from her face. "You were under for longer than I thought you would be, almost thought you were dead." He paused, the silence heavy before he murmured darkly into her ear, sending tremors throughout her body. "Well, I've never had a corpse before."
Her throat constricted as her air cut off, her body freezing.
No, no please. Please, anyone, please let him not have done what she had a slithering suspicion that he might have. She shut her mind down before it could remember the other boys there, surrounding her in the forest.
Maybe it hadn't been just him, her mind whispered.
Shut up shut up shut up shut up...!
She forced herself back to reality just as Hans slid his hands under her shoulders, dragging her limp body a few feet more, humming to himself all the while.
After a while of silence broken only by her rasping gasps, he finally dropped her, her breath releasing in a sigh of relief when his hands left her skin.
Wait, her skin?
Her hands, still sluggish, slowly crawled their way up to her shoulders, freezing at the bare skin there. Her clothes...?
Where were her clothes?
She forced her hands to travel all the way down her body as Hans walked a few feet away to relieve himself, the loud sound of it echoing through the forest. Her dress was gone. She lay limply on the forest floor in only her, now torn, undergarments, hardly covering her thin body.
She felt a sob build up in her throat as her mind shouted the truth of the injustice done to her tonight. Her body, touched with alien hands she hadn't approved.
The sob escaped and she heard a cruel laugh, somewhere to her right, accompanied by the sound of crunching leaves.
"Ah, there now, darling." His voice whispered, right next to her face that she struggled to turn away. He grabbed her chin, forcing her face back to his as his eyes darkened, his eyes dropping to her lips. "You know, you were one of the best I've ever had." He lowly, his tongue darting out to wt his mouth. "I don't think I got enough, having to share you with the boys like that. I think I want more." And then his eyes were black and his hand was hot against her face and he was leaning down and his lips were crushed against hers in a way that hurt.
She made muffled noises against him, but he swallowed them with his fat mouth as he stuck his tongue down her throat, groaning.
No, no no nonononono! Not this time!
With every ounce of strength in her body she dragged her arm up and thrust her finger straight into his eye.
He screamed and fell backward but she followed, forcing her body upward as she dug her finger further into the wet surface of his eyeball, going deeper and deeper and twisting her finger underneath the ball and she popped outward, the eye coming with her.
Hans screamed again, shrill and piercing as he grasped his eye with one hand, the other one shooting out and punching her straight in the face.
She gasped as she felt bones in her nose crunching, pain flaring everywhere, her face on fire.
She could still hear him screeching as he stumbled up, pinning her down as his free hand rained punch after punch on her uncovered form, pain bursting like sparks, twisting down everywhere that he touched. And slowly, she felt her mind becoming dark again.
No. Please. No.
I shouldn't have gone, father. I never should have gone.
And then the memory overcame her mind. A house, grand and beautiful, burning, bright orange flames flickering up the sides as the sound of a child's scream pierced the virgin air.
And then she was gone. Fading out. Fading.
******Author's Note******
Hey there! Author here!
This chapter was kinda dark and I apologize, but I had to go where my inner writer was telling me to go. Hannah, if you're reading this, don't let this scare you off, I swear I'm not totally weird, please don't send me the squinty emoji.
Anyway, I have asked my wonderful artist friend (Hey there, Hannah) to draw up a cover for my story and she has delivered the most wonderful piece ever, and I love it! I'll have the covers switched really soon, so look forward to that! (It's seriously amazing!).
Okay so now for the summary,
Alvera awakens, being carried through the woods by Hans. He taunts her for a while, alluding to her rape. He then drags her farther into the woods and kisses her. She fights back and pops his eyeball out. He beats her and she has a brief flashback to a burning house before she passes out.
I'm sorry, I really do the passing out cliffhanger way too much and I updated a day late this time but soon, one of the main characters will be introduced, so please bear with me, please!
Anyway, I'll stop droning. See you next week probably.
