In Hudson there were only about 5000 people and in such a long time nobody had asked about Berry until someone new finally arrived. Laurel Cassidy's family had moved to Hudson from the heart of Québec City and they were ecstatic about the small town life. Laurel was a 17 year old girl of average height with light brown hair, blue eyes, and lightly tanned skin. Laurel's mother was an author and her father was an actor so the little town full of artists was a perfect fit for them. They moved to a small blue house near the small school in the center of the town and they began moving in on a chilly day in mid October as the leaves fell from the trees and a wind of change blew through Hudson. They had just brought the last boxes inside when a young man of the same age as Laurel approached the house, he was short with black hair, green eyes, freckles, and pale skin. The young man walked up to Laurel, " Hello darling my name is Sebastian and I live a few doors down it is sooo nice to meet you!!!"
"Um...Hey I'm Laurel I just moved here it's nice to meet you too." Laurel replied nervously. Another guy started running towards them from across the street, he was tall, tan ,and had cropped blond hair. The boy crashed into the space next to Sebastian and grinned showing off a shining smile and deep brown eyes staring straight at Laurel "Sebastian!!! We were going to wait to introduce ourselves!!! Sorry about my boyfriend, I'm James." James exclaimed staring at Sebastian and Laurel with his head spinning around back and forth like the wind. "It's fine I'm Laurel, it's nice to meet you and trust me I'm glad you introduced yourselves," she said, "anything to get out of unpacking."
"Well then we didn't interrupt anything too important." Sebastian said smiling a little then sticking his tongue out at James. James rolled his eyes at Sebastian and held out his hand to shake Laurel's. Laurel shook James's hand grinning but still feeling a bit off balance from the very sudden confrontation of the rather odd pair. "So is there anywhere you guys go to hang out regularly?" Laurel asked after shouting to her parents that she was going out with some friends.
"Yeah there's this coffees joint we hang out at, Pandora's Pithos." Sebastian replied as they headed towards the place.
"Sounds pretty cool, so is that where we're headed?" Laurel queried pulling her light grey cardigan a bit tighter around her body.
"Yeah it's a pretty cool place," James said smiling, "they have the best hot chocolate ever!" They continued walking down the street when the saw Berry across the way from them. "Who's that?" Laurel asked Sebastian pointing towards the pale girl whose hair was flapping behind her in the slight wind. "That is Berry," Sebastian replied seeming quiet and nervous for the first time on there walk, "she's a bit of a legend around here and no one knows if that's her real name."
"Well," Laurel stated "I'm going to try and talk to her."
