Lonely

The words made Enoch shudder. He hated how he was awful to everyone else, but he couldn't help it. Everyone else were just to stupid for their own good. To naïve. They had no idea what it was like, feeling like you didn't matter at all, because you don't.

Sure, they all had horrible past, (hell, Emma was left at a fucking circus) but that doesn't mean it got better for them. They may have had a perfect home and an entirely new life, but it wasn't the same as Enoch's old life. He missed his parents quite often (even though they had accused him of witchcraft and kicked him to the curb) he still loved his mommy and his daddy, he also missed his old friends. They thought he was funny. They could take his realism and blunt attitude. No one at Miss. Peregrine's could understand Enoch's humor. How he missed his old life.

He got lonely. Scratch that, he is lonely. Yet no one can see that, and Enoch curses them for it, he curses himself as well. Why can't he just tell them? Because he thought it was weak. He thought it was weak to show raw emotions or tell someone else about your problems. That's why he made fun of others for it. Until he and Emma went too far.

1944 (September 3rd, 1940)
Ten Months After Abe Left

Emma hadn't stopped crying in all of the months Abe had left and it was pissing Enoch off. Why cry over an idiotic, unprepared, over-confident, blubber brain?

"Emma, you know we all miss Abe but polite persons do not cry at the dinner table. You may be excused to go to your room." Miss. Peregrine shot Emma a sorrowful look.

She was right. Everyone missed Abe, except Enoch, but especially Emma.

"Crybaby." Enoch muttered as Emma went to put her plate away.

Miss. Peregrine prayed Emma didn't hear him but it went unheard.

"Just because you don't miss Abe doesn't mean no one else does Enoch." Emma nearly shouted but she remained slightly calm.

Enoch rolled his eyes. "Sure, you all miss Abe, but not everyone is crying about him day after day."

Emma huffed. "I loved him Enoch."

"Liked. You liked him, there is no such thing as love."

"Then how were you made Enoch?" Emma spoke.

"Through a mutual partnership and money." Enoch's eyes caught in the light as he tilted his head back and he closed them.

Emma stomped. "The only reason you don't believe in love Enoch, is because you know you'll never have it!"

"That's enough Emma." Miss. Peregrine said having enough of their fighting.

"No, no. Please let her go on. The only reason I don't believe in love is: I don't want something that's fake. Let her get it out. Go on Emma" Even though Enoch played Emma's words off, her word's were knives into his heart and they were probably true.

"You're just-AGH!" Emma stopped and glared daggers into Enoch. "No one here likes you or your attitude. You're the worst!"

"News to me." Enoch shrugged.

"Shut up! You're so smug all the time and you act like you rule the place. You make me sick to my stomach Enoch! I. Hate. You."

Emma's hands started to glow and Millard popped up and lead her out of the dining room.
