Chapter 7:

"I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine. I got a love, and I know that it's all mine. Oh, oh whoa. Do what you want, but you're never gonna break me. Sticks and stones are never gonna shake me. No, oh whoa ..."

I groaned and snapped open my eyes and blink a couple of times to adjust to the lighting in my room. My phone was ringing and I turned around to grab it. The ringing came to a stop and I quickly answered. But it just returned the call instead of me answering.

Ugh.

"Why didn't you answer your phone, missy?" Nat's voice rang through the phone.

I internally groaned. "I was taking a nap." I said as I yawned and opened my eyes.

I took a look at the clock on the wall and notice that I had taken a nap after getting home. Zander showed me around the forest and took me to beautiful small pond and told me he use to always hang out there and play with Harrison when they were children. After making out a last time, it was time for him to go to work, as he told me, and he brought me to my house.

I ended up taking a one hour nap and now the ringing of my phone woke me up.

"Oh babe, did I wake you up?"

"Maybe," I said quietly. I haven't told her that I have boyfriend, but I should break the news to her.

"So, I heard something," She said hinting in her voice.

"That Zander and I are dating?"

"What!? No! That wasn't what I heard."

Oops. "Yeah we are, and I thought that's what you meant that you heard something."

"No, I meant that I heard that some cute guys got into town." She said quietly. "But," She said loud. "Since when are you and Alpha Zander dating?"

Alpha?

"Today?"

She gasped. "Wait, do you feel electricity every time you touch him?"

I nodded.

"You found your mate! Your soul mate!"

"Nat, what are you talking about?"

She giggled and just laughed. "I'm so happy for you, you're going to be a really good Luna–girlfriend I mean. You're going to be a really good girlfriend."

"Did you drink a lot of coffee again?"

She laughed. "A little, but like I said, I'm so happy for you."

I sat up in my bed. "Thanks, I guess." I put on my shoes and grabbed the keys to my car. "Nat, listen, I'll text you later, but I'm going to visit my dad."

She got quiet and nodded. "I understand babe," She said. "Be safe."

I nodded. "Thanks," We said our goodbyes and hung up. I looked at the time and it was almost close to nine in the evening.

I know that it was too late to visit the graveyard but I just want to go talk to Dad, especially I need someone to tell that I have a boyfriend and that I feel really safe with him, and about what happen yesterday with Mom. I drove around and got to the cemetery. The streets, on my way here, were super quiet and I guess everyone took that news to be safe and not go out until dawn. But oh well. I got out and went to where Dad was resting. I kneeled down and cleaned around. Sure Mom came the day of the funeral but that was it. Like I said, she never really cared about him.

I sniffled. "Dad," I sat on the ground in my knees and hugged myself tightly. "I miss you. I really, really do." I looked around and then my eyes fall back onto his name graved on the stone. "I met this guy yesterday. His voice was the one that caught my attention as weird as this sounds, but I feel really safe around him. I do and I trust him already. He asked me to be his girlfriend today and I said yes. I know if you were here, you would've told him to take good care of me. And I know that even after a day we met and had this weird connection, you would've told me to be safe and all."

I smiled.

"But I'll be honest to you, I feel as we already knew each other." I let out a small breath. "He somewhat believes in soul mates, so I'm guessing he thinks that I'm his." I blush at the thought. "Dad, what would you tell me if I told you all of this? Would you be against it or would you be there for me?" Tears gathered in my eyes. "I don't know why you met someone like her, she doesn't even come to see you and she's at some cruise ship right now. But don't worry, that day will come when I'm out and I finally have my own place."

I silently let my tears fall, like always.

"I miss you Dad, I miss you so much it hurts." I said and started sobbing. I sniffled and wiped my tears.

I heard a growl behind me.

I froze and slowly turned around. I could feel my heart beating on my chest, more like pounding against my chest.

I was face–to–face with a wolf.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and I could feel the sweat in my palms. My tears were now flowing freely in cheeks, and I had stopped crying . . . for now.
