There was a quiet pop as a visitor appeared outside my cell. Who ever it was teliported. I missed my magic, I hadn't been able to use it since my teliportation failure three months ago, speaking of which, how did this guy use it here, there's a disrupter. "H- hello?" He whispered quietly, as if he feared being heard. Who was he? Why was he here? Rescue? No,that was childish. I wasn't to be fed until tomorrow, and I already got my water. What was he doing? Was there news? I'd never gotten news before. Was the war done? Could I go home? Or was my death faked in the war and I would stay here forever? Or was this visitor here to kill me? Who was he? I stood up and walked cautiously to the door. "Hello," I said firmly yet softly. I could almost make out his face through the shadows... Discord! What did he want! I continued to stare agressivly at the filthy monster, "Here to gloat, Discord?" I asked, turning to leave. He flinched as I spoke, he was nervous, why? He already looked at me with a hint of fear in his eyes as he saw my matted mane and stained, ungroomed coat. He was sincerely distraught about somthing other than my filthyness. "I- I'm sorry, Ela," he said quietly yet sincerely. What? This was a trap, he'd give me hope like Annette did, then rip it away. I said nothing, just watching him unblinkingly. "I am!" He whispered when he saw I didn't believe him. "I like a good joke, but this isn't funny. I- I'm sorry I put you here." Was he being sincere? "And your sister's an amazing mare, but so harsh... I... I don't want to be here with her anymore. I'm leaving, but I'm not leaving you here, she said it would be hilarious to watch you here. The devastation on your face would be priceless... but this is not a good joke. Not when your stuck here." He snapped his fingers and the scarlet of the torches lining the hall leading to my cell died down, turning to the normal golden orange glow of fire. That's why they never went out, they were the magic disrupters. They were enchanted so no unicorn could cast spells if the light hit them. Sombra had told me about somthing like that, I missed Sombra, three months of lonlyness and I'd take anyone's company, but if I really could leave I'd need to see him as soon as posible. I used my magic to pick up a small stone on the floor to test that it worked. My magic was back, but was it safe to go, "Are you lieing?" I asked after casting a truth spell, a weak one, he could easily resist, but I'd know if he tried, or if he didn't resist he'd spill his plan. "No, I just want to get away from your siter." I didn't know he had honor. "Thank you, Discord, but are you going to tell Annette what's wrong?" I asked. He winced. That's why we were whispering, he didn't want her to know he was leaving. "It was an honorable thing to free me, but it would be a selfish act of cowardice not to tell Annette your woes," I said, giving him somthing important to think about just as I teliported back to the castle.
The second I entered my home I saw Sombra running around frantically inside a circle of books. "Sombra?" I asked. It had been so long since I'd seen his face. "Ela! Where were you, I was so worried and you didn't come back to the castle, I was trying to cast a locator spell but... are you okay?" He asked, seeing my dirty coat. "Where did you go?" His concern was real, somone who saw me as somthing other than a joke, somone who cared. I was imprisoned by Annette, Sombra, she kept me locked up for months! She's crazy! Sombra, it was her who killed my parents! I tried to say. "I couldn't leave, I needed to keep fighting the draconequus, I missed you so much, finaly the superior princess, Annette, made peace with him. I'll give you the details later," was what came out. I had to tell him about my parents, I has to tell somone, but when I tried to speak the stupid enchantment placed on me by Annette made me tell the fake story she wanted everyone to believe. I couldn't talk. I needed to tell him, he deserved to know. "How was it, are you okay?" He asked concerned. "I'm okay, just glad it's over, now I can get back to my life," I said, feeling like Annette's puppet. She's insane! I hated lieing to him, but still, Annette was my sister, I can't hate her, even if I really really want to. She's my only family now. "I ate a caterpillar! It's because I'm so dumb, derp derp!" I blurted out mechanicly. Really! How is she even doing that! Can't I have any privacy! I mean, it was true, I ate a bug, but did Sombra have to know that? And it was an accident, I was four! He was looking at me like I was a fool and my insides squirmed with embarrassment as my face turned from my natural blue to scarlet. "Umm... okay... thats... intresting. And very relevant," Sombra said awkwardly. "Sorry, its... hard to explain, I... sorry... ," I apologized, me actually saying it this time. "Okay, well... do you want to go to the royal library or somthing? Or maby I should just go, there's probably a lot of stuff you need to do..." Sombra said failing his attempt to get rid of the awkwardness. An idea surfaced in my mind, if I could find a book that mentioned the spell... "Let's go the library," I said, the awkward moment over. There were a lot of books in the palace library, but not all of them, making the special trips to the town library extra special, but we had to have this book. We had to.
