'Where fucked Chels. It was nice knowing you.'

'Cath dont say that.'

'Its not like you have an idea.'

I put my hand to my chin and stepped off the motorbike.

'If you do, do it quick or we get shot to smithereens.'

'I'm working on it...'

Walkers are lured to you by 2 things. Smell and noise.

'We can distact them with the horn of your motorbike...'

'Yeah, but then we have to leave it, and I dont want that.'

'Cath, are you afraid of germs?'

'What?'

-

'This is fucking gross...' Cath complained.

'You wanted a plan.'

'Thinking back the horn was better...'

I had pulled a walker out of the crowd, and Cath destroyed his ribcage, revealing his gross, rotten organs. If we smelled like one, we would get away with it.

'But the bike?' Cath asked, and she turned her head to the big, bad ass vehicle.

'You cant take it with you.'

'Thats not fair!' She half-yelled, careful not to attract their attention.

'You have 2 options: Cover yourself in guts and escape or become walker food with that big noisy thing.'

Cath kicked what was left of our walkers skull.

'Hmpf. If we do get cought in the big swarm, I'm blaming you.'

'That won't do anything if we are both dead.'

Cath was very stubborn. With a grossed out face, she pulled something that looked like a lung out of its ribcage, and began rubbing it all over her clothes. I did the same. Soon, you could hardly recognize us.

'Hey Chels, I dont see a difference between clean you and walker you!' She laughed.

'Very funny.' I bit back.

'Cheer up. Hey, you know this guy?' She pointed to the walker.

'No...?'

'This is Jürgen, he was organ donor.'

She held the gross intestants to my face, and I slapped it out of her hand.

'Thats disgusting!' I gagged.

'We are both disgusting. Let's go.'

She held her knife ready, and so did I with my hatchet.

'Dont make noise and dont attract attention. If we split up, go towards the forest.' I hissed in Cath's ear, and she nodded.

We started walking into the swarm. Foot by foot, step by step. The ugly monsters snarled at us, but didnt lash to bite us.

Cath grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

Among the walkers was a small boy, not older then 6. Hiss clothes were too big for his now skinny and rotten body, and a few clumps of blonde hair stuck to his small head.

Cath looked away bitterly, and I squeezed her hand tighter.

After a few minutes which felt like hours, the swarm started to thin, less and less walkers roaming around. Arpund fifteen minutes later, the way was almost clear, a few of them just lurking around. Cath and I started to walk faster, which turned into Running, which turned into sprinting.

'Chels, keep running! Dont stop!'

The gnarling from the walkers faded. I looked behind me.

The highway that was swarmed with them a few minymted ago, was clear. The cold night breeze howled in my ears.

'W-we passed it!' Cath huffed. We were both completely out of breath.

'We did it!' I half-yelled.

'Let's get clean somewhere, I can't bear walking in these disgusting clothes any longer!' She complained.

I picked up my backpack and followed the highway.

-

After a few hours of walking aimlessly, I spotted a bright and clear lake.

'Hey Cath, look! A lake! We can clean up!'

We ran to the lake in excitement. I trew my backpack in the grass and waited for Cath. She took off hers, but then hesitated and stared at her feet.

'What's wrong?' I asked.

'Well...'

With one swift move, she pushed me in the ice cold water. Before I could even react she jumped in with a canonball, and splattered all the water over me.

'Not fair!' I laughed.

After cleaning ourselves up, we climed out of the water. Cath was shivering, and my teeth clammered together.

'Let's find a safe space to spend the night...'

I swung my backpack on my back and got up. I pulled Cath up too.

'Too bad we had to leave my motorbike behind. It would be useful now.'

'Let's get going.'
