*Claudia's POV*
It's been a couple of weeks and I've been feeling quite a bit better. Besides the fact that every now and then, I find it hard to breathe because of the injuries in my chest.
The boys and I are taking a month off from the tour I relax before we continue again in the UK. Ashton and I rented our own apartment, since we're getting pretty serious now, if I may say so.
I really wanted to get a pet since I'm home alone a lot, and Ashton likes to party with his friends. I'm not much of a partier. We were on the edge about it for a while, but we finally decided on a kitten because he knows how much I love cats.
We got a baby Himalayan cat, and we named her Clea. She was very fluffy, kind of like Perrie and Zayn's kitten. She wasn't too energetic, and loved cuddling, something we did a lot.
Clea was very friendly towards all our friends, but she definitely loved me more than Ashton, no matter how hard he tried to win her over.
Tonight Ashton was going out with his friends again. I was sitting on the couch about to start my Lord of the Rings movie marathon, when he came to say goodbye. "I'll be back soon," he said and kissed my forehead.
"Love you!" I called as he walked outside.
"Love you, too!" He yelled and waved at me through the window.
I sighed as he drove away, and got some snacks to eat since I wasn't planning on getting up once these movies started.
During the second movie, I texted Ashton to check in. I heard his ringtone in the other room, and discovered that he had left his phone here. Luckily, I knew where he was, so I could bring it to him.
I got into my car, and drove to the club. I looked around the club, but I couldn't find Ashton. I saw Calum, "Hey, have you seen Ashton?" I yelled over he music.
"No, why? I thought he said you weren't coming!" He answered.
"I'm not, but he forgot his phone," I said and continued to look around.
"Oh, well I'll give it to him if you want," he offered.
"Okay, thanks. Bye Calum!" I said and went back home.
It was 12:30 am and I still hadn't heard from Ashton yet. The third movie had just started and I was beginning to worry. I saw headlights outside and heard the car roll up. The door shut and the car drove away again.
The front door open quickly and Ashton stumbled in. He almost fell over, but I caught him quickly, trying to hold him up with my skinny little arms.
"Are you drunk?" I asked, the strong smell of alcohol omitting from him confirming the question.
He shook his head, "n-no I'm not. I-I didn't drink t-that much..."
"Ash, you're drunk. I'm going to get you some coffee." I said and started the coffee maker as he sat down at the island.
"No!" He shouted, pounding his fist on the countertop, making me jump,
"I think you need it, babe," I said again.
"No, I don't need it, so stop." He said angrily.
"What's wrong with you?" I said in shock.
"I don't need you," he said and glared at me.
"Excuse me?"
"I don't need you and I don't want you," he repeated, a low growl in his voice.
Tears threatened to spill, but I ignored them because I knew that Ashton was drunk and didn't mean any of this. The coffee finished and I set it on the table for him if he changed his mind.
I walked back over to the couch to finish the movie, and Ashton was just standing in the door frame. "What are you doing?" He asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't play dumb. You always do this to me. You think you can get whatever you want." He said.
I stood up, "what are you trying to say?"
He stepped closer, "I'm sick of you," he said.
I closed my eyes and bit down on my lip, trying to hold everything back. He was drunk, but his words still hurt. I looked up at him, and his dark eyes were glaring intensely down at mine.
"Get. Out." Was all he said.
I sniffled and ran out the door. I can't believe he was doing this. He had come back drunk before, but he never acted this roughly. It was weird. I sat down on the steps to the apartment, and I instantly felt a pain in my side.
My ribs still hurt and the heavy breathing was irritating them.
"Oh, and by the way," Ashton called outside, "I found someone better than you!"
That did it. I burst into tears and soaked my sleeves. I got into the car, and drove away as best as I could. The first and closest person I could think of was Rachel. She will always be there for me.
I pulled up to her and Niall's apartment and knocked on the door multiple times. I didn't stop knocking until she opened the door. She smiled at first but then saw my face and the grin washed away.
"Claudia, what happened?" She said, taking me inside out of the rain that had just started to pour down.
"Ashton came home drunk and started yelling things at me. He told me he found someone better than me, and that he's sick of me." I said and cried onto her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry," she said and rubbed my back, "I'm sure he didn't mean those things. You said yourself that he was drunk."
"But he sounded serious," I sniffled.
Niall walked into the room, "I'm going to go talk to him," he said and walked past us.
"Don't...hurt him," I said.
"I might need to, after all, he hurt you," he answered.
He left, and Rachel consoled me for a long time. My chest began hurting again, and this time it was worse than before. I tried going through the breathing tips that Ashton usually helps me with, but my head was aching terribly and I couldn't think of them. I needed him to help me.
"Claudia, are you alright?" Rachel asked.
"I...need...him..." I choked out.
"Honey, I know you do, but he hurt you."
"No..I..need..him..." I repeated, but she just wasn't getting it.
She got me some water, but it didn't really help. I took some Advil, but that didn't do much either. She offered to have me sleep here for the night while this was all sorted out.
I just hope it all works out.
