Chapter 10
First Meet
Hayden's P.O.V*
I'm so glad to be going home. The walls of the hospital were becoming too familiar. I checked out and walked to the parking lot with Ashton.
"I'm so glad to be out of there." I said.
"I'm glad you're out of there. I don't like going to hospitals, even if I'm not the one staying there. Do you want to go out tonight?"
"Yeah, sure. I'll just leave Brandon with Drake." I guess I could wait until tonight to talk to Drake.
Ashton drove us to his house. I love hanging out at his place. It's so big and spacious. My house is small and cramped. He parked in the driveway and went inside. Ashton dad was rushing around the house gathering random things.
"What's going on Dad?" Ashton asked.
"Oh, hey you two." Mr. Berkley greeted, giving us a smile. "There's an emergency at the hospital. I'll see you later alright? Have fun."
"Bye." We both said before he rushed out.Ashton and I sat on the couch and watched TV. He had his arm draped around my shoulders and I snuggled into his side. I missed him. I missed getting this close to him.
"You have no idea how much I've missed you." I said.
"I can guess." I smiled. "Um, I was wondering. How about you and Brandon come over someday and sleep over."
I sat up straight and looked at him. He wants Brandon and I to sleep over? Is he really ready for that?
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah. I want to be as close to the both of you as possible. I- I love you Hayden."
"Y-you love me?" He actually says he loves me. I guess I love him too, there's no better way to explain these feelings I have towards him.
"Yeah. I can actually be myself around you and tell you anything. I love you and I want us to be a family."
"I love you too, but don't you think it's a little early to be thinking about being a family?"
"We can wait until we've graduated of course. But I just want to get to know you and Brandon a little better.""I'll think about it."
Could Ashton possibly be thinking about marriage? We've been dating for three weeks. We already love each other, but I think becoming a family is taking it a little too far. I've always wanted to get married, but now I'm not so sure. The thought scares me a little. My phone rang, breaking my thoughts and making me jump. I pulled it from my pocket and saw it was Drake calling.
"Hey." I answered.
"Are you out of the hospital yet?" He asked.
"Yes." I simply answered.
"When are you coming to get Brandon? I have work to do."
I excused myself and went into the study to talk to Drake in private. Something tells me there could be an argument.
"You mean drug dealing?" I said.
He didn't answer right away like he usually does. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You're still going to lie to me? Darren told me everything. How could you go back after being 14 months clean? Are you crazy?"
"It's none of your business. I know what I'm doing."
"None of my business? My son is with you two days a week and you think it's none of my business?"
"He's my son too, alright? I'm doing this for him."
"You're not doing this for him! You're doing this for yourself. You just prefer being on the streets. That's the only place where you feel you belong. But you're wrong. You belong somewhere safe with our son. This is dangerous business, and you know that."
"I don't care how dangerous it is. I need the money."
"For what? To pay the prostitutes you pick up?"
"No. I need to buy a car and pay child support. Dealing pays good money."
