Chapter 1
“Let me go, you stupid dog!" My voice came out rough as I had been pinned against a tree thanks to the unusually large yet gorgeous grey wolf that glared at me, snapping his jaw and letting out a loud growl.
“I'm not a dog!" He said before his long canine teeth bit down into my shoulder and I gasped out in pain, cuffing the fur behind his neck and pulling.
He let out a howl and I smirked, pushing him to the ground so he lay flat on his back. I laughed as he squirmed awkwardly underneath me. "Not so tough now are you, Jeremy?" I could feel his massive erection and smiled, scratching behind his ear as he whined and put his tail between his legs.
“Lyric!!!" He squirmed more, howling as I scratched harder and I noticed he was fully hard now, letting out cute desperate whimpers. "You win!!"
I giggled, shifting to get off of him but he pulled me back onto him, grinning wide. I blushed. "Jeremy, don't let your little friend get the best of you!" I took this moment to study him. Black messy hair, breathtaking blue eyes, and the perfect amount of muscle for the 19 year old he was. The way his lips turned up in that sexy grin of his, his jaw strong.
He laughed and licked my cheek, then licked the blood from my shoulder. "You were so mean that time. We were simply playing there sweetheart."
I shivered and quickly stopped my blush. "Get dressed hot shot. We’ve got school tomorrow and I know for a fact your little pack has to be wondering why we were gone so long this time."
He gently moved me off of him and slipped on his boxers, jeans and shirt, grabbing my hand and pulling me back to my cabin in the woods. Well really OUR cabin, the whole pack of wolves. There was only seven of us, I mean sure I was the only human but that was what was so amazing about it I guess, living in a house full of testosterone driven werewolves was quite the adventure.
Jeremy held onto my hand tightly, seeming to caress it as we spotted the large wooden cabin. I could smell something raw and meaty and I quickly ran through the door, sitting at the dining room table. He chuckled at my actions and Chase took the seat on my right.
His hair was red, longer than Jeremy's and his eyes were amber with silky brown. He wasn't too muscular either, broad shoulders and fine abs. I smiled at him and he searched my eyes, looking for something and I quickly looked away. His mouth was at my ear then and I let out an involuntary shiver. "Would you like to help me take care of Veronica and Shane tonight?"
Veronica and Shane were the newest members to our pack, they were still being trained and quite the troublemakers. “Of course," I whispered back. "But why are we whispering?" I searched the room for any sign that trouble was around and that's when I realized it was just me and Chase.

My eyes shot open, my alarm making me jump right off my bed and hit my leg on the end table. “Fuck!” I cursed, rubbing my leg. I groaned and pulled myself up, throwing my blankets back on the bed and turning off my alarm. I grabbed a towel from my closet and headed to the bathroom for a nice hot shower.
I let the water overtake me as I began to think. How many times was I going to dream about werewolves?! It was beginning to get annoying. I quickly finished up and pulled the towel around my body, stopping at the mirror and looking at myself.
My hair was auburn, a red brown. My eyes, they were quite strange, taking a violet color. My skin wasn’t pale, but it wasn’t tan. It was somewhere in between, with a bit of a glow to it. My lips were full and a light pretty pink. I wasn’t skin and bones either, a size 8 and fine with it. I wasn’t ugly, but I didn’t think I was all that pretty either.
Biting my lip, a nervous habit I had, I began towards my closet again. I grabbed a pair of jean shorts, seeing as it was the middle of May, and an Asking Alexandria tee shirt. I pulled on my cloths and headed out of my room, down to the kitchen.
Mom wasn’t home, she never was. Dad was out of the picture, but I did have a twin sister. Though she went to a boarding school because she was little Ms. Perfect. It didn’t bother me any to be home alone. In fact, I sort of enjoyed the silence, the solitude.
I found my way over to the cupboard and grabbed a Oats and Honey Granola bar and poured a glass of milk. I ate my breakfast in no hurry. It was only 7:10, school started at 8am. Something vibrated against my leg and I reached into my pocket, pulling out my cell. It was a text from my best friend Kellien.
Kellien: Wanna hang out before school? (: I got something to tell youuuu ;)
Kellien was a senior, though I was a junior. He had short brown hair, adorable green eyes, and he was 6ft 3, dwarfing me at my 5ft 4 stature. I’ve been friends with him since I was in middle school.
Me: Sure thing :3 Pick me up in ten? :)
I smiled softly, Kellien always knew how to make me laugh and I adored him for that.
Kellien: Yup. Be there soon ;)
I laughed, he always did that wink. Even in person. It was actually..sort of attractive.. I felt my cheeks heat up. There is no way you can like your best friend! It’s like a rule or something! I bit my lip as I yelled at myself. I was very right though, liking your best friend is like against some silent rule.
I got up from my place at the counter, picking up my bag off the couch and going over to a mirror where a applied some eye liner, mascara, a bit of eye shadow, and some chapstick. I brushed my hair and found myself presentable.
Kellien honked the horn off his grey SUV and I rolled my eyes at his impatience. I locked the front door and shut it behind me, making my way over to Kellien where he held a cute, goofy grin.
I climbed into the passenger seat and pulled my seatbelt on, looking up at him to find that grin still plastered on his face. I couldn’t help it, I giggled at him, hitting his arm gently so he would start moving out of my drive way.
He pulled onto the road and I smiled. “You look very nice today Lyric.” He complimented me.
My cheeks felt heated again. “Thank you. You do too.” I paused. “So what did you have to tell me?” I asked him.
He chuckled. “Right to the point, eh?” He didn’t wait for me to answer. “So.. I’ve sort of been meaning to ask you something..” He ran a hand through his hair.
I bit my lip. Was he nervous?! Kellien was NEVER nervous. I waited several moments for him to speak again. He turned to look at me then. “I was wondering..my dad is having this open house, and I really need you to pose as my girlfriend. He expects me to bring you and he kind of thinks we’re dating.. So please pretend for me?”
I laughed. “You want ME to pose as your girlfriend?!” I laughed harder. “For a second there I was thinking..” I calmed myself down now. “Of course I’ll be your pretend girlfriend!” I told him.
He smiled the adorable, goofy grin again and I felt my heart speed up, my tummy all fluttery. “Thank you so much!” He pulled into the school parking lot and helped me out of his SUV. Kellien pulled me into a hug and I smiled, hugging back tightly. “I owe you.” He said.
I smiled back and looped my arm with his, dragging him toward the school. “You don’t owe me anything.” I said softly.
He stopped right in front of the school and he looked deep in thought. “I think I do.” He said, winking at me. I blushed and he picked me up from behind, twirling me as I squealed and giggled. I liked the way his arms felt around me, though I’d never tell.
“Put me down, Kellien!” I said, giggling and squirming. He put me down gently but tickled my sides until I hit his arm playfully. “Come on! We are gonna be late!”
He chuckled and grabbed my hand, pushing his way through the crowd to our first hour where he let go of my hand and we took our seats. I wished so badly that he’d never let go of my hand..
