Forbidden

Chapter2

I step out into the hallway, my heart racing. Pictures of theo flood my mind, and I have trouble breathing.

"I don't believe in love anymore" I think. At the end of the long hallway is a metal door with a keypad. The man types in a code and it opens with a "click" sound. As We step in, I can faintly smell cologne and mint.

"Just wait here" he says, motioning towards a chair. I sit down and look around. The wall to my right was made entirely out of glass. I heard the click sound again and my stomach drops. My "soul mate" is in the same room as me. I hate it. I hate this feeling of guilt I have.

I slowly turn around in my seat. there is a boy about 5 foot 9 with blue eyes and a black beanie covering his blonde hair. He is talking to a guy with a long white lab coat on. He looks over at me and I realize that I was staring. He smiled and waved. I felt like I was 12 years old again, Looking at my crush and getting butterflies when he looks back.

"No" I whisper. "No. Think about theo.just because he looks amazing doesn't mean he is"

The man in the lab coat motions toward me and my "soulmate" starts toward me. I stand up and smooth down my skirt.

"Hi I'm Isaac. " his voice is low and raspy. it sends chills down my spine.

"Ariana" I say.

He holds his hand out for me to shake, and I take it. It is warm and firm. I almost didn't want to let go. But I do.

The man in the lab coat (that I later learned his name was mr. Morris) lead is to the door.

"Both of you need to be back here tomorrow at 10 am and I will show you your room then." He says. We step out into the hall. We walk side by side down the long hallway until we reach the end. There, it splits into 3 smaller hallways.

"This place is like a maze" i say.

"Yeah. If I was 5, I would have LOVED to play hide and seek here.

"Who said you have to be 5?" I say.

"Ahh. Childish. I like it." He said, smiling at me. I poke his stomach, and before I know it, I'm running down the left hallway.

"Tag!! You're it!!" I yell.

I hear him running behind me. I didn't have a great childhood, so I'm very childish now. Before I know it, his arms are wrapped around me. He trips, taking me down with him. He rolls over so I'm on top of him.

"You're it" he says laughing. He still has his arms around me.

theo was never this playful.

I laugh. I hear footsteps behind me. I lift myself off of him and turn around. Mason is standing there with a confused look on his face.

"Well" he says. " looks like to two have gotten very close in the past..." He looks at the clock on his phone. "12 minutes."

I stand up and offer a hand to Isaac. He takes it, and it takes me both hands to get him up.

"We were playing tag" i say.

"Sure" mason says, raising an eyebrow. I look over at Isaac and he is smirking.

"Wait until theo hears about this." Mason says. Isaac looks down.

I look at mason , wide-eyed.

"I'm kidding" he says smirking.

" Let's go idiot." I say pushing him down the hallway.

"You're still it!!" Isaac yelled . I turned around and smiled at him. Not even theo made me feel like this. But I feel horribly guilty.
