"Worst idea ever," Julie mumbled under her breath but I heard it anyway. I rolled my eyes at her, why can't she just shut up?! Can't she see that this is her only option?
"I heard you," I said, climbing down the roof.
"Yeah, yeah" She said, rolling her eyes.
"Seriously, do you want to stay up there and be eaten by the zombies?" I asked, irritated. " 'Cause I'd be glad to help you cimb up the roof again and you go slip yourself inside the window."
"No. But I don't want to fall from a cliff and die either. And what if I accidentally slipped and bump my head on the roof?" She gave me a pointed look.
"You won't die! And that's why you need to be careful," I huffed.
We finally got to the end of the roof but the question is, how can we get down?
"Um.... How do we go down?" Julie asked panicked. By now, the zombies knocked down the door of the room we were in just a while ago. They followed us out of the window and they are making their way down the roof.
I looked around finding a way to get down. Finally, I saw a ladder at the end of the roof. "There!" I said pointing to it. We walked over to the end of the roof. As I was about to climb down the ladder, Julie nervously said, "Um, Ashley? We've got a major problem here."
I looked up to her, confused. I followed her gaze to the ground and panicked. What do we do?!
The zombies down there were about ten and they kept shaking the ladder trying to go up. I turned around and saw the other zombies were almost near us. Oh no, we're trapped! This is it, we are doomed!! Julie stared at me waiting for a plan, but I'm out of ideas! Just as I was about to lose hope, an idea came up to my mind.
"Julie, when I say jump, jump okay?"
She looked at me as if I were crazy, "Julie, we have no choice. You have to trust me on this. Now, I'll count to three and you must jump, okay?" She nodded since there's no other option.
Okay, this is it. I held her hand and squeezed it reassuringly. I gave her a look as to say 'We'll go through this together'.
I gulped, "1 . . . 2 . . . 3, JUMP!!!" We, I mean I jumped and skipped the zombies on the ground. Wait, what? Oh no, Julie is still up there! I landed on the ground roughly.
I quickly stood up and shouted, "Julie, jump!!!!!!" I already lost three of the most important people in my life, I can't lose my best friend now. I stretched my arms ready to catch her.
"C'mon! You can do it!" By now, the two of us were being followed by zombies. Well at least mine were a little bit further from me, but hers is already near her. One step and they'll already catch her, I can't bear her being eaten by the zombies and have to witness it!
"You won't die, did you see me? Did I die?" Sigh, she's being childish.
She took a deep breath and jumped. We both fell to the floor, I stood up as quick as I can and helped Julie up. I turned around and saw the zombies near us already. I grabbed Julie's hand and ran as fast as I could without tripping at my own foot, I mean we're already in the worst situation and I don't want it to be much, much worse.
Julie pointed to a car with no one in it and we sprinted in that direction as fast as we could. Much to my surprise the door was unlocked. I opened the door and got in, Julie sat on the wheel, because I obviously can't drive. "Where's the key?" I asked, looking around the car frantically.
"I think it's not here."
I removed my clip from my hair and inserted it in the keyhole and twisted it. Please work, please work! Luckily it worked, the engine started. Yes! Thank God! I have always done this since I was a child. It really comes in handy, specially if your parents are mad at you and they'll lock you inside your own room. And the last time I did this, it didn't work. I ended up being stuck in my room the whole day. I'm just so glad that it worked now. I guess it's based on the hair clip that you use. The one I used the last time I did this weren't just my lucky clip, I guess.
"Go, go, go!!" I yelled, panicking.
Julie placed her hand on the wheel carefully with shaking hands.
"Well, what are you waiting for?!" I yelled. The zombies already reached our car and they are pounding on the windows. I think my heart will jump out of my chest any minute now, I swear I could hear it beating, it was loud that my ears would bleed.
"I-I don't know how," Julie stammered and that's when I lost hope that we could survive this, even the tiniest piece was gone.
"You're kidding," I looked at her, pleading for her to tell me that this was just some kind of a sick joke.
"I-I'm sorry, I really don't know how!"
"Then why did you suggest for us to go to a car?!" I said, getting frustrated by the minute.
"I thought you knew how!" She yelled back.
"Well, I don't know!" I shouted.
"Well, sorry Ms. perfect." She scoffed.
I pinched the bridge of my nose, trying to remain calm. We couldn't be arguing now! This isn't the right time to do that! Heck, this is a life and death situation!
Julie raked a hand through her hair frustratingly.
Things couldn't get any worse, could it? Suddenly, a loud bang came from my window. I jumped out of my seat and turned to my right to see a huge crack on my window.
