My God! What is she doing here?! I acted like I didn't see her, and walked first to Queen Channary.
"Your Majesty," I said, taking her hand in gloved mine, kissing her fingers. "Lovely to see you again. Princess Selene," I repeated the pleasantry on my future bride. "You look beautiful." I moved on to Princess Levana. "Princess Levana," I did the standard greeting to her and her daughter as I had the women before. When I got to her husband, I shook his hand, "Sir Everett is it?" "Yes Your Highness." "Very nice to meet you." "You as well."
When I reached Camilla, I stopped. She held out her hand for a kiss, but instead I shook it. She wasn't royalty, and if they're not royal, or your significant other, you shake hands.
Her face fell, and her voice cracked as she spoke. "P-Prince K-K-Kaito....s-so n-nice t-t-to see you." I smiled sadly at her, and said, "And you Princess Camilla."
Channary saw she was about to cry and sent her and Winter off, as well as relieving Levana and Everett. She said she was to retire to her room as well, leaving just Selene and I alone with 2 guards.
"Um, how do we do this?" she asked blushing furiously. I smiled, she looked cute when she was embarrassed. "Well dear, I was hoping we could talk. Hopefully be friends by next month. I'll be staying here until the ceremony, and then we'll be switching every 2 months from Earth to Luna."
She smiled at me, God I might actually be falling for her already. "Okay. I'd like that Kaito." "Oh! No no no, I'm sorry dear. Please, call me Kai." I grinned back at the beaming princess. "Well then, Kai, care to join me on a walk?" "Love to."
I took her hand, as she led me through the palace out to the lake. It was beautiful. She hiked up her full skirt, and slid out of her heels. She slowly waded into the water, and giggled. I loved how she was already comfortable with me, as I was her.
I removed my socks and shoes as well, and said my pant legs up to my knees. I stepped into the water, and sighed. "It's beautiful here." "I know. This is where I'd come, every night I can remember up until I was 13. I'd just look at Earth, and dream that maybe someday I'd get to walk on real grass. Swim in real water. Maybe I'd even be lucky enough to live there one day. I always thought it to be impossible, what with my being the heir to the Lunar crown."
I was just watching the beautiful girl talk about her childhood. Gazing at my planet as she poured her heart and memories into my hands. She was so beautiful.
She looked at me suddenly, she seemed nervous. "What? Oh no, is it my makeup??" She bunched up her dress to mid-thigh, and crouched in the cool water, looking at her reflection. "No. Not at all dear. Just, you're so..." "What?" "Beautiful. I don't even know if you're glamouring me or not." She giggled. "What's so funny dear?"
"Nothing, just, I'd never be caught glamouring my fiancé. I promised myself that when I was a girl. Whomever I should marry should always see the real me, wherever and whenever he should like."
I smiled at my future bride, and then took her hand. We both looked on toward Artemesia, then to Earth. Soon, we would rule it all.
