As Kai and I began our reception, and the music started, it was bliss. They played a few fast paced, upbeat songs, I didn't dance to those, I just ate a chocolate-covered strawberry or 2, and made small talk with a few politicians and guests.
When they played a slow song however, mine and Kai's eyes locked from across the room. We quickly excused ourselves from our conversations, and met one-another in the middle of the floor, in a sea of flowing skirts like flower petals, and whirling tailcoats like birds' wings.
Our hands clasped together like perfect puzzle pieces, his hand found a place on my waist as though pulled like a magnet to the spot, and my head found a comfortable nook in his neck. It was perfect. I knew that things wouldn't always be this perfect, but I also knew that this arranged marriage was the best thing that could've happened to me.
I loved Kai more than anything on Luna, and I knew he felt the same. After all, we promised each other if we ever became unhappy during our marriage, we would get a healthy divorce, and stay friends. After having children of course. The child would be the only connection between our worlds if we divorced.
After the song ended, we kissed quickly, and trailed back away reluctantly to socialize. I couldn't wait for this reception to be over so we could get to tonight. We're not going to do anything though. We're leaving tonight for our honeymoon!
I've arranged for us to stay on a small farm in Paris with a friend of my mother's. Her name is Michelle Benoit. She will be out of town for a few weeks, and she said we could stay at her farm. As long as we pitch in just a bit, by making sure the crops are watered, and if we do a few chores, we can stay as long as she's gone.
Kai and I are very excited for what lies ahead.
