Chapter 7- Careful, love
Elizabeth's ears twitched and she lifted her head from her paws. A branch had snapped somewhere in the distance and she could smell a scent of someone not in her new pack. Her muzzle scrunched up in a growl as she saw a few unknown wolves appear from the bushes. Their eyes squinted as they returned the snarl. She knew they were lycans, just like her, but these were foreigners on her new land. She phased and stood there. Elizabeth was not ashamed of her body and was not ashamed to stand with out clothes to cover her... But, she demanded that they phase as well. "You are on marked territory." She growled once they obeyed. The males stared her down, the wolf just below their surface. Rogues. Rogues kept their animalistic tendencies, hence why they are rogues. For some, it is simply genetic and to others, it is a choice. Those were the worst. They knew what they did was wrong yet, they take great pride in taking the lives of other lycans. "We caught onto a beautiful scent," one spoke, she assumed it was the leader of the small group. "Right." She cocked her head to the side. "And that gives you the right to enter pack territory?" They chuckled. "No, we apologize. It is just, we did not realize such an alluring scent would come from such a beautiful female such as yourself."
Elizabeth growled lowly and stared then down. "As you can probably see, I am claimed." She pointed out. "I appreciate the compliments but-" "-she is ours." a voice interrupted. Familiar hands rest on her shoulder and a tall frame shielded her. "Here." Elizabeth glanced up to see Lucas handing her his shirt. She smiled and slid it on, happy to be enveloped with her mate's scent. "So I see." The lead wolf said, growling softly. "We shall leave." He made a noise, they phased, and bounded off. "You have to be careful in these parts." Lucas warned, his protective instincts in full drive. "I know but I-"
"But nothing, Elizabeth. They could have seriously hurt you." She glared at Lucas. She hated that she glared at him mostly but, him and Victor played good cop, bad cop with her. "Lucas," Victor warned. Point proven. Lucas sighed before holding Elizabeth. "How did you know?" She asked them, nuzzling Lucas' chest. "We always know when our little mate needs help." He smiled and kissed her forehead. "Now how about we have a nice little snack before duty calls again." Victor murmured, kissing her cheek. "You better be talking about food." She uttered, feeling her stomach tighten. She would keep her resolve strong. "We will see how well you hold up when your heat comes." Lucas purred, pressing against her front. Victor sandwiched her and she whined. "I will sleep in another room." She threatened. "Awe, kitten." Victor teased. She snarled and pushed away, huffing. "Can we leave now?" Both men laughed and nodded. "Yes, we can." She nodded in response and turned. "Do you think I can help with any official business?" She asked curiously, enjoying the feeling of soil and damp leaves beneath her toes. "I don't see a problem with it." Lucas said, glancing at Victor who also shrugged. "Yeah, why not. I could use another pretty face to look at." Elizabeth frowned. "What other pretty face. Lucas smirked and leaned forward, whispering "My own."
She rolled her eyes and followed the men back to the house. "We, unfortunately have had a lot of rogues in our lands these past few years." Lucas explained, pulling Elizabeth to his body. "We are tying to figure out why they have suddenly grown in numbers and why they have been getting.... accustomed to the pack." She frowned deeply. "What do you mean "getting accustomed"?" She asked seriously, gripping his hand and forcing him to stop. "Well, as I said before, they've been coming into our lands frequently the past few years but, a few of our own voluntarily went rogue." Her heart dropped in fear. "So that means.." Victor nodded. "Yes. The rogues could be planning an assault. Our former members could be giving them vital information about our pack's weaknesses." Elizabeth felt her throat tighten at the thought. "But," the two men encased her within their arms. "They will not hurt you. They'd have to kill us first." She sunk into them, welcoming their comfort. It was a terrifying thought, knowing that rogues most likely knew everything about a pack. "Come on, let's get to the office." Lucas murmured to Victor. Victor phased and Lucas smiled. "I don't want you phasing, at least not for a few hours." Lucas whispered, cupping her cheek. Victor nudged his snout against her upper thigh, close to her bottom. Elizabeth squeaked but nodded. So, Lucas helped her into Victor's back and the trio left. It was so odd, being on in the back of another Lycan. She never had to do this but, it wasn't a bad feeling. At least now she knew how humans felt when they were with their Lycan mates.
