“Astrix was my best friend in the entire world.”

What’s going on?

I jerk my eyes up.

Damn.

We’re in a church.

Do I seriously have to go to my funeral?

“I miss her like crazy.”

I glance up to see a girl standing apart from everyone.

No you don’t.

Who is talking?

Only the main bully.

Haley always was a liar.

No one even knows that she made fun of me.

 Constantly.

I glare at where she is standing,

Up on the podium.

How dare she fake crying at my funeral?

She made my life unworthy to live.

Doesn’t she know her words didn’t help save me?

I blink and suddenly my brother is at the podium.

“Astrix was my older sister.

She was always there for me.

But, I guess I wasn’t there enough for her.”

Oh, Alec. It wasn’t your fault.

It honestly wasn’t.

He tries to speak again,

But he can’t get any other words out.

He leaves the podium

And runs out of the building

Through a side door.

Suddenly, I am outside.

Next to my little brother.

My adorable baby brother.

Who will be fifteen in a few weeks.

And he is crying

Like I’ve never seen

“Oh, Alec.”

I whisper.

But he can’t hear me.

He collapses onto the ground

Next to the door.

And puts his head in his hands.

I cannot bear his pain.

This is my baby brother
