     Freed POV

I need to find Laxus.  We were supposed to stay together but the mages of the dark guild found a way to separate us.
I'm relieved to see Evergreen and Bickslow nearby but I cannot help but worry.
"Freed!" Someone shouted, pulling me from my thoughts.  I moved just in time to dodge the attack that would have hit my head.
I turn and see Evergreen looking at me.  "I know your worried.  Got to him," she said.
I knew what she meant and though I didn't want to leave them,  I needed to make sure he was okay.  I nodded and ran to find him.
I followed the trail of scorch marks and fallen mages made by him.  I saw the flashed lightning up ahead and knew that he was close.
I kept running when I felt a presence behind me.  I turned to see a man in a hood.  He lunged at me and I raised my sword to block the attack.
I blocked it and he jumped back.  "You seem to be strong.  Why don't I test your strength?" He said.
He raised his hand and shot and orb of light at me.  "Dark Ecriture: Reflect!" I shouted and the attack flew back at him.
He dodged then said,"You seem skilled with that sword of yours.  How about we settle this without magic and just our blades?" He said and pulled out a sword that I recognized as a type of Egyptian sword called a Khopesh.
"I will agree to your terms," I said.  I got ready to fight.  I wanted to get this over with so I could get to Laxus.

     Laxus POV

Crap!  Crap!  Crap!  I got separated!  I was supposed to stay close but of course life is against me.
I need to get back to my team, Freed especially.  I look around and there are still quite a few mages left.
There's at least twenty left.  One of them alone isn't that strong but together it makes things more difficult.
"I've got somewhere to be and you guys are slowing me down!" I shouted.  Lightning started to flash and I knew that I could win this.

      Freed POV

I've been fighting for much to long.  I see a sudden but large burst in the distance.  I smiled and turned back to my opponent.
"I will admit you are a formidable opponent," I start," but there's someone waiting for me and I don't plan on making him wait."
I run forward and knock his sword from his hand, turn and shove the hilt of my sword in his stomach, then knock him to the ground.  He is unconscious and I put my sword back in its sheath.
I've got a few cuts and bruises from the fight but other than that I'm fine.
There's another burst of lightning and before I know what I'm doing, I'm running to him.
I soon see him in the distance and start running faster.  All the mages around him are unconscious and I'm not really surprised.
"Laxus!" I shout as I keep running.  He turns to me and smiles.
"Hey Freed!" He shouts back.  I love seeing him smile.  It always brightens my day.
I've almost reached him when I see something move out of the corner of my eye.
      "LAXUS!"

      Laxus POV

I see Freed.  He's got a few small cuts and bruises but other than that, he looks fine.  I smile at him and start to walk to him when something makes me stop.
      "LAXUS!"  I hear him shout.
I turn to see what was wrong and saw blast of magic heading my way.  One of the mages was still conscious and was using all of his strength to attack.
I have no time to dodge or even block the attack. I know what's coming.
Then I see a bright light.  I close my eyes and brace for the pain.  But it doesn't come.
I smell blood but it's not my own.  I then notice that Freed's scent is stronger than before.
I open my eyes and immediately know why the attack didn't reach me.
Freed is standing just a few feet in front of me.  HIs back is facing me but I already know that the wound is bad.  "Freed!" I shout.
He starts to fall but I catch him.  I look and see a huge gash on his chest that is soaking his clothes in crimson.  Tears are already rolling down my face.
His eyes have a look of pain but relief in them and his breathing is strained.  "I-I'm glad y-you're ok-ay," he says.
His voice is weak and broken and I can feel my heart shatter.  "Don't talk!  You need to save your strength!" I say desperately, even though I knew that even if he saved his strength, it would do nothing.
Freed shakes his head and he has a look of acceptance on his face.  "Why?  I didn't want you to do this!" I asked, tears pouring down my face.
"I-I coul-dn't just stand th-ere and watch you g-et hit," he replies weakly.
"I don't want you to die for me!  I want to spend my life with you!  Please don't leave me!  I love you!" I almost shout.  I never said it enough
"I love you!  Please don't leave!  I love you too much to live without you!"  I beg.  I could never say it enough.  No matter how many times I told him,  it wouldn't be enough to show how much I love him.
"Please, k-eep living f-or me," he says.
I pull him close and sob into his shoulder.
