~Mirror Boy~

-That new note-

It's been a few days since the trip to the pond.

Edd was drowning in the mass amounts of homework that was stacked there and everywhere, Matt cheered him on. It seemed to ease the process.

Edd's headphones were loosely pleased on his head with the volume silenced. He could hear Matt's muffled voice throughout the headphones. Matt was babbling on about comets and meteor showers.

Matt did not let himself worry if Edd did not listen. He liked talking about space anyway. And it was nice to even imagine that someone was listening to him for once.

"I mean I've never saw a meteor shower but I'd love to someday" Matt told.

Edd smiled warmly as he turned his head to Matt. "That's nice!" He then turned his attention back to the rather difficult homework.

Matt opened up another packet of red heart sweets and threw a couple into his mouth.

"Y'know, I like to think that the stars brought us together." He said as he swirled the sweets about in his mouth.

"I'd like to think it was your parents when you moved here." Edd laughed as he placed the headphones beside him so he could hear Matt better.

"So uninspiring." Matt complained.

"Well, what would you want me to say?"

"Well..." Matt thought. "What do you think happens after we pass?"

"Reincarnation. Simple."

Edd finished the last of the questions from the homework sheet and placed them in a separate stack of completed homework. He decided enough was enough for tonight.

"What do you think happens?"

"I believe we turn into stars" Matt smiled softly as he finished the last of the candy hearts.

"Talk tomorrow?" He asked as he swung his legs back into his bedroom.

Edd nodded his head. "Talk tomorrow."

"Good night, Cola Boy."
"Good night, Mirror Boy." Edd smiled warmly as he sat up to close the window, smiling at his pretty prince one last time for that night.

"Edd! Post!"

Edd's mother called out as he lazily awakened. His door was opened and a letter was placed just past the frame of the door.

He stood up, stumbling a bit as he picked up the completely black envelope.

'Strange..'  Edd thought to himself.

His fingers messily opened the envelope to reveal a light pink letter which was covered from front to back in white cursive writing.

Dear Edd,

I know you, yet you don't know me. I thought that would be for the best for the both of us.

Since I don't have the courage to say it to you, I'm your secret admirer, if you will.

Reasons why I love you

1. Your voice, it's so soothing and sweet. I could listen to it all day.

2. The way your hair moves whenever you do. When it sways from side to side, it makes you even more adorable.

3. Your smile. It's as bright as a thousand stars, and I love it.

Believe me, I could go on for pages and pages but I think it's best to leave them for other letters.

Molly? Mable? Martha?

He started to become deep in thought. Who was this secret admirer? Why didn't they tell him to his face?

Edd opened his window and hit Matt's with a wasted eraser. Matt's window soon opened and Edd handed him the letter.

"I got this today. Do you have any clue who it's from?"

"Nope. I don't know many people from here anyways." He handed the letter back to his owner and Edd tucked it back into its envelope.

"I bet you're jealous..~" Edd teased.

Edd smirked as he returned back to the window. Matt scoffed.

"Why'd I be jealous of you getting a letter from someone you've never met?"

"I hope they look nice..." Edd said, ignoring Matt's words.

"Only interested in looks?" Matt raised an eyebrow.

"You get what I mean..!"

"Well, true."

"Anyways, I have to get ready for school now. See you tonight?"

Matt nodded. "See you tonight. Later, Cola Boy!" He said cheerily as he shut his window.

"You too, Mirror Boy." Edd smiled to himself as he shut his own window.
