Here we go again.

New school.

New friends

New life.

These thoughts flashed through Jake's mind on the car ride to school. The first day of the new session was here and although constantly changing environment and school wasn't a new thing as he had done so thrice in the past two years, the foreboding that this was going to be quite different was assuring as Castle and his new environment was a far cry from his old life. His dad, Rob sensed his dismay instantly upon lifting his gaze to his momentarily.

Rob cleared his throat, his eyes still fixated on the road ahead. "I know, this is hard for you, but I promise this would be the last time this would happen." A short silent ensued in the car before the reply from Jake came.

Jake's brows dilated in apathy, his gaze still fixed on the window by his side. "Well, dad that was the same thing you said the last two times."

Rob snorted, a smirk plastered on his face. "You make it sound like you are the only one who moved, we are all trying to adapt here."

Jake continued, almost retorting "We wouldn't need to adapt, if only you had sat down with mom and sort things out instead of hurling blames and insults on one another. If only you could set your pride apart."

His father apparently didn't like where the conversation was headed, owing to him cursing under his breath. "Oh so it is my pride now! Your mom is totally void of any I guess."

Jake had simply had enough.

He swirled around finally to face his dad. "It has always been about your pride dad. From the onset, it had always been mom making efforts to mend your relationship; but no, I guess you can't just deal with the fact that she earns double of what you do and spends more than you can."

Rob looked at Jake, reality hitting him in the face that his kid was no longer a kid and could understand his problems. "Watch your tone with me boy." He snarled nonetheless, flashing devious visual threats at Jake. "As your father in carrying out my obligations, I have always tried my best to make you happy and that's why I know you'll love Castle."

"You think transferring me to one of the most socially inclined school in the country would give me joy," Jake drawled as the car decelerated gradually heading for a parking site. "You're totally wrong, it just adds to my dilemma."

The car finally pulled over and Rob put his hand to the ignition button of the car. Jake stole a quick glance at the school's surrounding from where he sat, but owing to his plagued distance of sight he couldn't make out much, but something was indeed glaring in the school's environment.

Sophistication.

He felt a large hole being carved within him and his heart sinking, plummeting down almost at the speed of light.

Oh God, I don't belong here.

"You'll do fine Jake, you always do." Rob's voice echoed, pulling him out of his trance. His dad was peering at him intently now, his eyes blaring with concern and worry.

Hell I didn't ask to be brought here.

"Bye, dad." He heaved a sigh of frustration before pushing the door by his right wide open and hopping down from the car, slamming the door heavily behind him. Quickening his pace, now heading towards the main wing of the building; he couldn't help but turn to his right when the screeching sound of a car laced the serene environment. It was a limo pulling up his right; out of it emerged two students - a male and a female and although he couldn't make out much due to his vision proximity but they both had sophistication written all over them.
