I wasn't sure if I was dead or alive.

I was cold, it was dark, and I couldn't move.

I was slowly regaining consciousness and with each passing second, I was growing more and more aware. Logical thought returned back to me and a shot of fear raced through me. No, no, no! I should be dead! I don't want to breathe when whatever happens next, happens! My mind was reeling as horrifying memories from earlier began to play through my brain. In that moment, my body went into high alert. I could feel everything on my skin, even the dank air around me. I was hyperaware of the grainy dirt sticking to my face, and the dull ache in my ankles and right shoulder.

And in that moment, I shut my eyes and prayed. I prayed to whatever god would listen. I prayed that my death would be quick and that I would not suffer any more than I had to.

But as the tears began to brim out of my eyes and the sobs tried to rattle my chest, I heard the faint sound of a spell...It's a hard sound to describe, but it is distinguishable. It's the sound of magic cutting through the air and vibrating every fiber and particle it could touch. It's a beautiful, hollow sound.
I slowly lifted my head off the ground, sniffing and sputtering as I tentatively looked around. I instinctively reached for my wand and grasped it for comfort, although it would be of no use to me. My eyes began to adjust and in the distance of the dark abyss, I could see a glowing blue light, fading in and out of the dark. I watched it with awe as it throbbed like a heartbeat and I swallowed nervously, feeling sweat trickling down my spine and I began to dust my ruddy clothing off.

I glanced about for a second, trying to make sure what I was seeing was indeed real. I finally realized that I was in a cave, I could hear water trickling down the rough rocky walls and a constant dripping noise. But the sound of running water made me think there may be a body of water in here somewhere. The ground was grainy and it smelt like the air was stale or moldy. Perhaps both.

I looked back to the blue light and felt an overwhelming desire to draw closer. The voices were a loud, yet hushed, whisper. The voices were close and begging me to close the distance. Maybe my death will be quick...I thought to myself as I took a small step forward. I winced when I felt a shot of pain race through my leg and I pulled a face, reaching down to nurse my aching ankle.
I glanced back up at the bobbing blue light and grimaced trying another step with no weight on my newlyfound bad leg. I limped slowly toward the light, only making a noise (it was a startled gasp) when I tripped over a hefty rock and tumbled to the ground.
The light seemed to grow closer and the voices louder with every step I took.
The ground grew slick and wet as I approached and soon, I was standing knee deep in black water. I paused, the voices had went silent, and the light began to beat erratically, giving a violent shiver. I wanted to run and get away when I heard a rumble through the cave. I wanted to, but my bed was held captive.

The blue light exploded.

I managed to sheild my face as shards zipped through the room like bumble bees. They stuck through the hard rock wall and lit up the entire cavern, casting an eerie blue glow across the cave. I could see small, strange plants of beautiful colors unwinding and growing through the gritty ground as the strange light soaked them. The black abysmal waters were now clear and blue, I could even see the plastic edges of my shoelaces. I gazed around in shock, confused yet awestruck.
"What is this..." I whispered as I turned back aorund to were the blue light once stood and saw a massive drago skeleton hanging on the wall, winding it's bony body down like a spiral stair case, and at the base of it's tail, a well sat in idle wait. This seemed unreal.
