It was still dark out when I woke up. Even though it was Monday, the fact that it was also summer meant that I didn't have to go to school. My dad however was not as lucky. Both him and his girlfriend Jeanette had to go to work much earlier than - Wait, what time was it? My alarm clock said 6:00. Well, they both left for work at about 5:00.
I walked downstairs and found a note on the table.

Hey Chrissy,  sorry we have to leave so early. I trust that my 16 year old daughter can take care of herself though. There are bagels for breakfast, and dinner is in the fridge. We won't be back until late. I also left some money for you just in case. Have fun! But don't get in trouble!

-Love, Dad & Jeanette

I hated how they sighned things together now.
I grabbed a banana and walked outside. The crisp morning air greeted my bare legs cooly. I forgot I was wearing pajama shorts, but I didn't care. My favorite thing about this house was that the beach was right in our backyard. I walked to the edge of our porch and jumped off. After landing in the soft, pillowy sand, I moved foreward and only stopped when I reached the water. Laying down, I let the waves wash over my legs as the sun rose above the horizon, creating beautiful colors in the sky.
I layed in silence until I felt a soft hand on my shoulder, and I looked up. There she was, leaning over me, looking like an angel, as radiant as the sun. A smile spread across my face.
"Hi Lily." I said, my smile leaking into my voice.

"Hello. May I ask why you are laying in the water in your pajamas?" She questioned with a slight hint of amusement in her face.
"Well, I came out to watch the sunrise, I guess." We share a look, and both start laughing.
Lily layed down next to me, and we just stayed there for a while.
I find it incredible instantly we became friends over the span of last night, but we just clicked.
After a while I realized that I hadn't actually eaten breakfast, and it was getting late in the morning. I jumped up and grabbed Lily's hand.
"Come on, walk with me." It took only a moment after I said that for us to burst into laughter.
