People make promises all the time. Preachers, teachers, parents, children, lovers, soulmates, everyone makes promises they cannot keep. People lie. It is a natural human instinct. Humans lie, cheat, steal, break promises they knew that they could not keep in the first place.
Sadly, people do not think about how that affects other people. If it does not hurt them, then it is okay. Nothing to worry about. However, you should worry. Some people can only handle so much of the lies.
