"OMG I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN!! I LOVE YOU GUYS AND YOUR MUSIC SOOOOOOO MUCH!!" Screamed a short, black-haired girl who was probably around 12 or 13. It was the tenth time I had heard someone say that, and we had only been "meeting and greeting" for about 20 minutes.
We posed for a picture with her, and hugged her one last time before the next fan came to meet us.
After doing meet and greets so often, you would think that I would get used to having people proclaim their love for us on a daily basis, but I haven't. I don't think I ever will.
I snuck a sideways glance at Hunter, who was standing as far away from me as possible. The tension between us was obvious, but Shawn and Eric kept making me laugh which helped lighten the mood.
I scanned the room of adoring fans and tried to convince myself this was reality. I had dreamed of this since I was little, and after what felt like eternity, I finally achieved my goal.
"Hey, it's really nice to meet you guys."
I turned my attention back to the person standing in front of us. He was tall, probably 6'0", had bright blue eyes, and a mess of dirty blonde hair that was perfectly quaffed. My heart did a little jump.
Then, I noticed that he was holding a little girl's hand, probably his sister. She must've been about eight years old. Two curly, brown pigtails stuck out on either side of her head.
"We're both really big fans, but I'm sure you hear that all the time." His eyes scanned over us until they rested on me. My cheeks started burning.
'This can't be right' I thought. ' I can't be moving on so quickly!'
He let the little girl run over to the rest of the band while he made his way over to me.
"Ashlynn, you're even more beautiful than I ever imagined." He grinned, showing off two round dimples.
'Hunter has dimples just like that.' I quickly remembered.
"Thank you, that was really sweet." I blushed again.
"I'm Ryan, by the way."
"It's very nice to meet you, Ryan."
"Do you like stupid jokes?"
I laughed at the random change of conversation. "I'm a sucker for stupid jokes and puns." I admitted shyly. As I said this, I saw Hunter look over at me, eyebrows partially raised.
"Well, you'll love this one: Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Cow goes."
"Cow goes who?" I laughed because I had heard that joke many, many times before.
"Cows don't go 'who' they go moo!!" He chuckled.
"Wow. Very original." I teased him.
"What can I say, I come up with all of my own material."
I smiled my first genuine smile since sound check earlier that day.
I felt someone lighting tapping my arm and I turned to see the little girl with her arms outstretched, waiting to be hugged.
After I bent down and hugged her, they got a picture with us.
"Well, it was really nice to meet you guys. Thanks for your time."
'Man, he's polite too?!' I sighed.
Before I knew what I was doing, I heard my voice call out to him. "Wait! You forgot something!"
He turned back around, curious as to what I was talking about. "What did I forget?"
