Gabe is laughing before I can even open my eyes. The sound is musical and heart wrenching. I find myself laughing along with him for no reason and then I stare around me. We're sat on the HUGE letters of Hollywood over looking the lush city of L.A,

"Christ this is high!" I shout to him over the whistle of the wind,

"Are you scared?" He asks, his blue eyes shining. I think for a moment and then nod,

"How do we get down?"

"We fly!" He stands up and jumps. I scream at him but then he's floating. Floating in the cold wind. I gasp in complete shock,

"This...is...un...freaking....believable" I say slowly,

"Fall forwards and close your eyes...you'll float!" He grins at me. I stare at this boy flying in the windy sky...his golden hair reflecting the sun,

"I don't wanna die..." I say and then laugh realizing my words. I can't die can I? Not again anyway, so what's the worse that could happen?

"Easy right?" Gabe says close to me. I've lent forward over the edge, my eyes are squeezed tight, I can't bare to open them. I think I'm scared of heights...like super high hollywood heights. If someone told me I'd be floating next to the sky this time last week, I'd have sent them to a mental heath hospital or asked what drugs they were on,

"Christ this is creepy!" I mutter slowly opening my eyes...it's like falling in a way, hovering in midair. A true feeling of freedom...nothing hold me down, nothing hold me up...I am just here. For that moment of time I forget everything apart from the blue sky and the world around me. The busy city that extends around us, the thin line of an ocean in the distance. I may be dead, but I've never felt more alive...never felt more connected to this world,

"It's amazing...right?" Gabe asks softly. He's got his eyes closed, a happy peaceful filling his face,

"I've never felt anything like it my life" I mutter as a warmth circles inside my gut...it pure magic. It's utter peace, utter calmness. I laugh caught in the moment and spread my arms wide out around me.  A hot breath falls on my neck and I realize that Gabe's hovering just behind me...his blue eyes are suddenly very close, so close that I can see each individual specks of gold in them,

"Scarlett...I...." He leans close to me and I pull back with a start,

"What do you think your doing?!" I gasp. Gabe holds his hands up,

"Listen to me..." He starts but I cut him off,

"Just because I'm here...it doesn't mean anything..." I snap,

"You know you're here because Clay's forgetting you! Don't be stupid..." He shakes his head and floats back creating a space between us. I stare at him for a moment,

"I'm not stupid Gabe...I love him! I can't stop loving him just because I'm dead!" My head is starting to feel dizzy...and the world around me is blurring,

"There are things you don't understand...things you need to know"

"Then...then....then..." I stutter hardly able to talk, "Just tell me..."

"You're blacking out"

"Gabe...." I call him suddenly feeling scared,

"Don't worry...I've got you...I won't let you go" He mutters softly just as the darkness consumes me.
