After school Charlie, Meg and Castiel meet Dean and Jo outside by Dean's car, a beautiful '67 Impala.
"Nice car," Castiel says.
Dean smiles. "Thanks. I got it from my dad."
Jo clears her throat. "Should we get going?"
Meg looks down at her watch. "Crap! Yeah, we should. Her shift starts in like fifteen minutes!"
Dean looks confused. "Who's shift?"
"Ruby Miner's," Cas says in a teasing voice, winking at Meg.
Meg's cheeks turn red and she looks down at the ground embarrassed.
Dean laughed. "Who's Ruby?" And why does that name sound familiar?
"Ruby is the girl Meggy has a crush on," Charlie says flinging her arms around Meg's neck.
Meg managed to check her watch despite it being blocked by Charlie. "We should get going. Charlie are we taking your car or..."
Charlie unwraps from Meg. "I have my truck today. That only seat three which leave two of us, Cas and Dean."
"What?" Cas asks. "But I normally ride with you."
"Yes but Jo and Dean aren't normally with us."
"So then why can't Jo go with Dean?"
Charlie glares at Cas, who's cheeks are tinted red.
"It's fine," Dean cuts in. "We'll take my car and meet you there. Okay?"
Charlie smiles. "Okay! See you there!"
Jo, Meg and Charlie start running towards Charlie's car, laughing.
Dean turns to Cas. "Ready?"
Cas smiles. "Yeah, let's go."
The car ride to the mall was mostly filled with Dean's music and maybe a few questions about how to get to the mall.
"So, Dean," Cas says after a couple of minutes in silence, "How are you liking here so far?"
Dean smiles. "It's a lot better than my old school, that's for certain. What about you? I mean, what do you think of the school and stuff."
"It's a bit small. I moved here from New York three years ago so I wasn't used to a total number of student still being in the hundreds."
"I've actually lived here my whole life. Well I guess except for a little bit in eighth grade when Sam and I lived with Samuel, our grandfather. Anyway, I wanted to switch schools so my dad let me."
Cas tilts his head confused, wondering why Dean would want to switch from the close community of the other high school to this one.
It's a long story...

Dean hid behind the gym, tears running down his face.
"Dianna," a girl's voice called.
"She might be over here," a male voice said.
They were getting closer, Dean could tell. He opened the door and ran through the gym towards the locker rooms. Before he could get to the door Naomi stepped in front of him to block him.
He turned to run the other way but Luke and Adam were blocking him that way too.
Naomi stepped forward and grabbed Dean's arms. "Aw, come on Dianna, don't run away."
"That's not my name."
Naomi laughs. "Yes it is, you know why?"
Dean turns back to face her.
"Because you are a girl," Luke says pushing Dean down.
Dean pushes himself back up. "No I'm not!"
Naomi laughs again and pushes Dean against the wall. She somehow pulls off Dean's t-shirt revealing his binder. She pulls a knife from her pocket and hands it to Adam.
"Consider this you initiation," she says.
Adam looks down at the knife. He drops it and steps towards Dean.
Dean heard it before he felt it. Adam had just punched him. "I thought you didn't hit girls."
"I thought you weren't a girl."
"I'm not."
The door to the gym slams closed. "Hey!" a girl yells from somewhere. A teacher follows her in. Naomi and Luke run for the exit, Ms. Campbell chasing after them.
"I'm sorry, Dean. I don't... I didn't... Luke is my cousin and he dragged me with them. I'm sorry."
Dean just glares at him before Adam starts running towards the exit.
The girl rushes over. "Are you okay, Dean?" she asks handing him his shirt.
"I'm fine," he says pulling the shirt back on.
"Do you want me to walk with you to the nurse?"
"No thanks, Ruby. I'll be fine."
She seems hesitant to but let's him walk away alone.
He didn't go to the nurse, he ran home and asked to transfer tears still streaming down his face.

Dean pulls into the parking spot at the mall and climbs out of the car, Cas doing the same.
Meg, Charlie and Jo meet them in the front.
"To Barnes and Nobel!" Cas says. "I need to get the next book in the Shadow Falls series." (that is the only store I know at my mall 😊(at least that's worth going to))
Dean follows them to the book store Cas automatically rushing to the teen fiction section (that's my home 😝). He grabs a book off the shelf and whispers "Mine, I love you," to it.
Dean walks into the section a little bit after him and sees him hugging the book. "Good series?"
"Yes!"
"Cas, Dean," Meg says, "we're getting food from the cafe, what do you want?"
"Pie," they both say at the same time.
"What kind? There are like five different ones. Nevermind you could just follow me."
They follow her to the cafe.
"Hey Meg," someone says.
"Hi Ruby," Cas says.
"Castiel." She nods towards him.
"Oh yeah, Ruby, this is my cousin--" Jo starts.
"Dean?" Ruby says.
Dean looks up at her. "Ruby?"
