CHAPTER 9
MARCUS PIERCE

The next day, as my day begins, I walk through the hallway of the school with a big smile tugged into my lips; this day is going to be awesome since my mate has told me that I will be his priority for today, which means he has no reason to ditch me. His girlfriend and friends can't bug him. Once the school ends, his time should only be dedicated to me. It sounds selfish of me, though, but all I want to happen is for my mate to get to know me better.

To be honest, when we first met, I should have done something more remarkable so he'd easily remember me, or would easily feel the pull towards me. After all, I'm his mate and he's my mate. I strongly feel the love I have for him whereas he just starts to feel the pull, and along with that, the confusion. Of course Nigel would freak out. I just hope that he wouldn't make a big deal out of it. This school has an LGBT+ club, so that shouldn't be a problem, right? Once the confusion sinks into his head, I promise that I'm going to help him realize that he wants me, that he loves me, and that he has to be with me because that's what mates want, right? I want that to happen.

My arms are itching to curl around his waist, pushing him towards me so I can give him a big hug; my skin itching to feel his – the warmth and the softness. The pads of my fingers are itching to feel his angelic face, his lips, his jaw, and his neck. I want to hold his hand, to take his whole life and lead him towards Utopia, where sadness and pain and all the negative things don't exist but happiness and perfection.

I want to feel his lips pressed against mine, molding into one with mine. I want to feel the passion, the emotion he pours into that kiss, the kiss that will blow our heads off. My heart wants to be synchronized with his.

"Someone woke up on the right side of the bed," a voice I've grown accustomed of hearing in a day rings in my ear; I turn around only to see the grinning face of Blaine Maximus. "Mind sharing it with me?"

I scan area, slightly sniffing the air just to check if someone is eavesdropping, or looking in our way. Once I know that it's all clear, I lean down and whisper in Blaine's ear "My mate said that I'll be his priority today."

"Nice," Blaine whistles, giving me a genuine smile. "Go get that dick." I push him, which makes him tumble but catches himself right away, glaring playfully at me. I give him an apologetic smile, shrugging and he rolls his eyes in a playful manner. "So you guys are going to have a date today, or what? What will be your plan? Are you going to confess to him?"

"Dumb ass," I mutter, resisting the urge to whack him at the back of his head. There's no way I'm going to confess my love for Nigel, and the truth about me. He will think that I'm crazy, which will lead to him avoiding me in the future, which will lead to me getting depressed. So no, I'm not going to confess anything at all to him. I'm just going to enjoy his presence around me, with a goal of making him smile and happy. I'll confess to him sooner or later – confession is inevitable. I have to tell him the truth someday. But now, I'll just remain Mark Pierson. "I'm not going to confess. I'll just make him happy today. That's my goal. I have time, and in the future, I'll tell him."

"Okay then," Blaine says, shrugging. "Hey, thanks for staying in my house. You know that you can live there, right, since you've told me that you live in the woods, near the lake. I'm a bit lonely there in my house, so having someone around will make it less lonely."

"No problemo," I say to him, nodding. "I'm not going to refuse that. Thank you, Blaine."

"You're welcome," he chortles. "Now go get that dick."

Rolling my eyes, I jerk my chin towards the direction of the first period. The warning bell will ring anytime soon, so it's better to move forward and be inside the respective classroom than to be late and get scolded at by the evil teachers lurking in this goddamn school.
