*Your P.O.V.*
Pain shot throughout my head and body as I opened my eyes to the sun light.
This is weird. I don't normally hurt this bad in the morning.
I rolled around in the bed, which felt nothing like my own. This bed felt lumpy and not firm like mine. There was only a single blanket on me, unlike the mountain I have on my own bed. The smell- that was also different.
My head ached worse the more I thought about it. I curled into a ball and ground as I clutched my head.
"(Y/N)? You awake?" a voice asked.
It was a familiar voice, one that I hadn't heard in a while. The type that could smooth talk his ay into anything, into.
Kenny?
I instantly opened my eyes, and there he stood. His shaggy blonde hair peeking out of his hood. His tan skin. His blue green eyes.
I froze.
Was this real? Was it him? Was I still sleeping? Kenny...
I broke into tears forgetting all about my body ache as I launched myself at him.
I let out a breath, "Is this real?"
"(Y/N), I am so sorry," he whispered to me.
"You left me," I sobbed.
"I didn't know. Clyde and I- we made a stupid bet. I felt if I told you, it would've hurt you- would'e made you leave. I ran, and it did more damage than I thought it would. I can't fix this. I can't take it back. I just-"
"I love you," I cut him off.
"I just didn't think-"
"I've been hurt bad because I love too much, but I admire myself for that," I interrupted. "I love you, but I don't want to get attached, not anymore-"
"No, this is bull shit," he sobbed. "I saved you from getting raped. I deserve this, I deserve a second chance-"
"Getting raped?" I asked.
Kenny's tears stopped, and anger grew on his face.
"Clyde, he drugged you. I got there just in time. I-I'll kill him-"
I cut him off with a kiss, "One more chance."
He looked shocked, then the biggest grin spread across his face as he hugged me and cried more.
"I never pictured you to be such an emotional guy," I commented.
"Crazy what the perfect girl can do to a guy like me," he replied, digging his face deeper in the croak of my neck.
I suppressed a grin, keeping my giddiness to myself. It felt right to have him in my arms, but I was still skeptical.
He left once. He could do it again.
Kenny sensed my reluctance and pulled away, "(Y/N), please don't worry about me leaving you. I won't give you up again."
I glanced around the messy room. People weren't kidding when they said that Kenny was poor. His room was dumpy and dirty. The light in the room was dim and flickered from time to time. Most the light came from the window which was poorly covered with torn curtains.
"I hope you understand now why I tried to keep you from my house," he said, startling me.
"I don't care how much money you have. I already knew that you weren't one of the better off kids-"
"(Y/N), I work two jobs. I keep a fourth of the money I make. My mother works double shifts. My father is too much of a drunk to keep a job. My older brother lives with us but won't work and is a druggy. I am the man to support my family. I've thought about dropping out. Look, what I'm trying to get at is that I don't have a lot of money, but I swear-"
I cut him off yet again with my lips.
"I don't care about money, Kenny," I stated.
His face lit up again just about the same time that my phone did.
Mom: you need to get home.
"I guess I should take you home," Kenny suggested.
I nodded in agreement, and with that, we went out to his dad's old beat up pickup and went to my place where there was an unfamiliar silver car in the driveway.
