The Royal Thrive - Chapter 35 - Confused Hearts

Flying above the ever green forrest I have been flying for about twenty minutes, my eyes are aching but I have to press on further. Now I wish I had secretly been training constantly - if only I had been more prepared for situations like this. Perhaps I could’ve changed a lot if I had… “Tch” Gritting my teeth I come into a mist of smoke and immediately I cough in disgust. This smoke is poisonous. It’s emitting from the pack house - this is silver fire. 

“Shit” Gritting my teeth I quickly arrived at the pack house and the scent of blood and death hit me like a tsunami. Yet how many times have I seen scenes like this? How many times have I been hit by the scent of blood and death? Ignoring it all I barge into the pack house whilst trying to inhale as little as possible of the silver fire. If I inhale too much I’ll eventually won’t be able to walk already this fire is stopping me from using too much of my powers that I have left. 

Trying to use my mate link, again it doesn’t connect no matter how many times i call Noah he isn’t resounding. Yet he’s not dead because if he was my wolf will be crying in sorrow but right now it’s just worried. As much as I am I begin to panic slowly - in this fire we are all no different to normal humans, no heightened senses at all. I have to be alert at all times. 

“Where do you think you’re going?” 

Gasping I turn around only to find myself being kicked into a wall a few ribs must’ve broken. Looking up ignoring the pain I see the Alpha of the Eclipse moon pack - he’s wrecked. Hands are covered in blood - “Where is Noah, Nathan and Anna?” After my question he look at me as if I’m asking a question in a foreign question “Noah? Nathan? Anna?” 

What is wrong with this guy?!

Suddenly he starts to chuckle progressing into a cackle “I don’t know anymore… I DON’T KNOW!!!” Surely he’s not in the right state of mind - before I can stand up again ignoring the pain he suddenly grabs me by the throat “I’ll kill every single one of you royals. EVERY ONE OF YOU!” Struggling under his grasp I grit my teeth “LIKE I GIVE A DAMN!” Kicking Leo in the balls and pushing him with a strong force with telekinesis he smashes into the glass table breaking it. 

Panting out of breath I know that the effects of this fire and smoke is getting to me - “Shit. If this carries on…” Once I let my guard down I hear Leo standing up with the glass crackling under his movements. He doesn’t seem to be feeling any pain at all - “RAINE!” Nathan’s voice growls as he jumps right in front of me, he’s covered in blood to. “Nathan!” Gasping he looks over his shoulder and down at me “Why and how did you come here!?” “I saw… No - I’ll explain later!” Wanting to keep our goal clear Nathan nods. Nathan isn’t in wolf form either - it is probably because it’s too dangerous to shift and the effects of shifting will weaken the wolf even more. At least as a human we can withstand the effects a little longer. 

“This bastard here started to kill people out of no where. He even killed the Beta” “You mean he killed everyone?” “No. He just killed the beta and his own wife. Then said it was time to act” Too shocked for words I look at Leo once more and without a doubt he is a completely different man to the one whom welcomed us at the start. However, just why? What on earth happened? 

“Leo! Let’s talk!” I push Nathan away to the side but he pushes me back immediately “Are you crazy?!” - “I’m trying to fix this!” 

“He’s a goner! He won’t listen! Let’s just finish him off before-! OI!” 

Trying to grab hold of me I push Nathan back facing Leo - “Like the hell I’m going to kill people without knowing why. Leo! I am going to look at your memories!”
