[story notice: this is a very bad book because it gets wild in like chapter 15 and i don't even know what was going through my head i need help.]

{update 6/8/22: i've decided to republish it because i like the idea, but i have not edited it, so deal with my deranged 13 year old writing! go read my new stuff tho~}

millie
i have had enough. i have been called names about my sexuality too much, and now i've been considering suicide.

i unlocked my rose gold phone, clicking the phone icon. i dialed the number for the lgbt help hotline. they could help, right?

i hit call, and the phone started to ring. after a few seconds, a cheery voice answered the phone.

"hi, i'm sadie, and you're calling the lgbt help hotline!" i questioned her. she sounded a bit too young to be a phone operator.

"you sound too young to be operating a major hotline... are you sure you're able to help me?" my voice trailed off. i assumed she was pranking me or something.

"oh, my mom usually answers these calls. but she said i could answer today! i'm a lesbian, and my mom has given me tons of advice!" she sounded more cheery than i expected.

"oh... well i'm millie. you said you're sadie?" i trailed off, and her cheery voice made a few squeaks before answering me.

"yes, my name is sadie. also, you may think 14 is too young to operate this hotline, but i live in seattle. everyone has a business in seattle!" her voice grew higher.

"oh, i live in tacoma, which isn't too far from seattle." i eagerly said. this girl was nice. i wonder if she'd been through everything i had.

"so, what have you been having troubles with?" she cheerily said, louder than usual this time.

"well, being a well, bisexual, nobody really wants to be near me... and i've been called a 'homo' and 'lesbo' and 'girl fag.' the list could go on." my sentence ended with a short stop.

"oh! and i'm moving to seattle next week." i popped in. i really was, and it was highly ironic. i could hear a gasp from sadie's end of the line.

"oh my gosh! what school will you be going to?" i heard her gasp louder. i thought for a second then it came to me.

"oh right, i'm going to spring-" she cut me off.

"spring ridge? me too!" she screamed. i laughed. yeah, i was going to go to spring ridge.

"well that's great! you can even meet my friend noah!" she yelled. "it'll be so much fun to have a friend here! hey, what's your number that you're calling me on?"

i willfully gave her the phone number i was speaking to her with, and she screamed again. this girl sure had a lot of energy.

"also, my friend noah is gay, he's 12. he's really fun to be around!" sadie kept rambling on and on, but i wasn't going to stop her.

"oh that's cool. my brother is gay, he's almost like a twin brother except we look a little bit different. his name is finn, and he's going to be in eighth grade with me." i kept the conversation going because honestly, this girl was so fun to talk to.

"i can't wait to meet you!" she said.

"you too!" i said, closing the line.

i don't know, i think there's something about this cheerful girl.
