7 ➣ spring break

millie confusedly glared at me. "what do you mean we're on spring break?"

"school is over for the day, and we have off for a week. didn't you get a break for spring at your old school?"

"no," she shook her head, looking down. she felt ashamed, but it was nothing to be ashamed about.

"it's okay, mills. some schools don't have spring break." she smiled, scooting closer to my side.

we walked outside and millie smiled. "it's nice outside. very warm. it must be spring, huh?" i nodded, looking her way.

we jumped onto the bus and took one of the seats up front. finn and noah sat in the seats next to us.

"how was your guys' first day at spring ridge?" noah asked millie and finn, as she slid closer to finn on the seat.

finn blushed. "my first day was good." millie looked over at finn, smiling.

"i agree, it was fun!" finn chimed in, squeezing noah's hand. they were blushing and sharing glances.

"so, millie, i was wondering if you and finn, and noah of course, wanted to come with me to the beach over spring break?" i asked them, as my millie popped her head up.

"of course!" she yelled, smiling. "when do we leave?"

"tomorrow," i said, brushing a strand of my hair behind my ear. "you'll need a bathing suit and some clothes. obviously."

"noah's gonna be there, correct?" finn asked, hugging noah. i nodded and his smile grew. they were just the cutest.

i remembered kissing millie. i wonder if she thought it was just because we were friends?

"hey millie," i said, slowly. "i really like you."

"i know! we're practically besties!" she screamed, hugging me tightly. i pried her tight grip off of me.

"no, i meant, as in i want you to be my girlfriend," i said, forming a half smile. "like do cute things and stuff?"

"yeah, i guess i'd like that," she said, smiling down at her feet. "boop." she said; placing a finger on my nose.

"cutie."
