Chapter 12: Around the Realms in Three Hours, Give or Take

Robin was surprised by how fast the Realm Heroes landed in the next realm. Surely, they'd left the Hall of Justice ten minutes ago. Or was it five minutes? Time and space was confusing, even for the protege of Batman.

Danny, on the flip side, wasn't the least bit fazed by where they were. "Welcome to Nickelodeon," He said, stretching his arms wide. "Or more specifically, Amity Park!" He was right. The Realm Heroes had landed on the stairs of City Hall. Just like at the Hall of Justice, crowds of people had shown up, cameras flashing.

"Well, they couldn't have picked better timing," a tall, silver haired man yelped into the microphone on the podium.

"Danny, who's the guy at the podium?" Jay asked.

Danny's eyes narrowed into slits. "That's Vlad Masters a.k.a. Vlad Plasmius," he said, "Vlad's the mayor of Amity Park. He's half ghost, like me. The only difference is that people accepted me for being half ghost when I told everyone. He was shunned until he came back to Earth, threw my best friend out of the office of mayor when he filled in, and pretty much has run this town like nothing ever happened."

"Ah, the Realm Heroes," Vlad smiled as he noticed the heroes standing there. "So good of you to come. Welcome to our humble realm," Vlad continued.

Laval stepped up from the podium and introduced the new Realm Heroes. When Danny's name was called, the crowd went berserk.

"Danny!" A fat guy in a orange jumpsuit sprang from the crowd and tackled Danny in a bear hug.

"Dad!" Danny howled while turning intangible to escape.

"We're so proud of you!" A woman in a blue jumpsuit lunged forward too. Her hug was a bit more gentle. "Jack," she said, turning to the fat guy, "Next time, please don't crush Danny."

"Sorry, Maddie," Jack said, "I just got so excited. Our son and this town's superhero just got drafted to serve on the most important council in perhaps the world. How could I not be excited?"

"Yes, indeed," Vlad muttered. He was obviously not wild about the fact that Danny had been drafted. He would've much rather prefered someone else.

Three teenagers pushed through the crowd, eager to see their friend. The teenagers included Jazz, Sam, and Tucker. Jazz was Danny's sister, Sam was Danny's girlfriend, and Tucker was Danny's best friend.

"Way to go, dude," Tucker grinned.

"Nice work," Sam smiled.

"Way to go, little brother," Jazz smiled.

"Thanks, guys," Danny smiled in return.

"Danny, are you ready?" Eris asked, holding the Realm Bracelet in her hands.

"Always," Danny said, extending his right wrist. 

"I'll do it," Jazz said and slipped the Realm Bracelet over Danny's right wrist.

"Hey, check the number of gems!" Razar shouted. Cragger looked. Sure enough, Danny had an extra gem. It was about the same size and shape as the other gems, but it was ecto-green in color.

"That's interesting," Cragger said.

"Wonder what it does?" Bladvic asked.

"We'll find out later," Emily said, "We've got more Realms to see." Danny thanked everyone for their participation in the drafting, then the Realm Heroes sprang through a portal on their way to another realm.

The next Realm the heroes visted was Knighton, home of the Nexo Knights. The crowd was so thrilled with the success of the knights, they requested that all of the rookies joust to celebrate!
