"Has anybody heard from Hadley?" Erin asked walking into the station
" no why?" Matt asked
"This isn't like him." Kelly said
" what?" I asked
" we're expecting him to do something else. He broke in and trashed your apartment but usually people like him aren't just one and done. What else would he be a master mind at. People like him crave attention." Voight said
Kelly POV:
It hit me. Recently we've been having fires in hot zones where it's dangerous for us to even go in. The only person who would know about all those are a fire fighter.
" oh my god." I said
" what?" Jay asked
I walked into the bay and looked at the map and everyone followed.
" Kelly." Julia said
" the recent fires the close off buildings. They're all in the hot zone. They're all on this map."
" what are you saying?" Boden asked
" I'm saying the only person to know to set those fires at all of these buildings..." I said
Julia cut me off " is a firefighter."
Julia POV:
My heart dropped. Kelly was right.
"Guys I need you to say exactly what you mean." Erin said
" it's Hadley. This is him getting rid of us. Hadley's starting fires at the most dangerous buildings in the city. He's off his marbles." Kelly said
" kelly are you sure about this." Boden said
" chief who else would know all that buildings." I said and he didn't say anything.
"Okay here's a radio. One of you contact us when you get a call. We'll be there just in case things go sideways." Erin said. Voight and all them left.
"You alright?" Jimmy asked
" just a bit shocked."
A few hours later....
Truck 81, Battalion 51, Squad 3, Ambulance 61 structure fire 106 oakwood court.
I looked at Kelly "that's another building." I said
" call them." Boden said
Ambulance 61 to the intelligence unit.
Go for voight.
Voight we have another construction fire 106 oakwood court. It's one of the buildings.
10-4 we're on our way.
We rolled up and smoke was everywhere. The guys went in. Voight and everyone showed up.
" is hadley here?" Erin asked
" we don't know yet." Cruz said
A few minutes later kelly came on the radio
All clear chief no sign of Hadley.
Wait I've got something. Matt said. They both left the building.
"Chief, same thing started this fire." Matt said
Then I saw him in the corner of my eye, smiling.
"kelly." I said and everyone looked. Kelly walked over to him and flipped his glove at his face and grabbed him by the collar.
" WE KNOW YOU STARTED THIS FIRE! STAY AWAY FROM EVERYONE AT 51 YOU SICK BASTARD!" He yelled while Boden and Casey were pulling him off.
" Hadley go now." Boden said
" yes sir." He said and left.
" why didn't you grab him off the street huh?" Kelly asked starting to get in jay's and voight a face.
" Kelly you need to back up." I said
" we need the evidence kelly. We need him inside." Erin said
" should've said that before one of us got killed looking for the guy." Kelly said and walked away
